  • People who are fans if GGG but not Wilder

If you are a huge GGG fan, but criticize Wilder.. why? Let’s not act like GGG has fought killers at mw. I mean I think Malik Scott or Johann Duhappas is every bit as good as Martin Murray or Curtis Stevens. The big difference is that Deontay literally KOd every opponent he’s faced.

First of all, I am a fan of both guys. But lets be real. Malik Scott is not the equivilant of Martin Murray or Curtis Stevens. Martin Murray was arguably robbed of a belt on at least one occassion. Curtis Stevens had the power to hurt any middleweight. You can't say either of those things about Malik Scott in the heavyweight division. Johan Duhapas or whatever his name is was a solid heavyweight. Nothing more. These guys are more like Gabriel Rosado except unlike Scott Rosado wouldn't take a dive.

What's one got to do with the other? GGG boxes 1000 times better than Wilder. GGG fought everyone in his division now except Saunders. Charlo just got there so not counting him yet.
Wilder looks like a bar room brawler 99% of the time. He's got freakish power in his right hand and it keeps saving him fight after fight. He honeslty would have lost to Gerald Washington if his r8ght hand wasn't an atomic bomb.

Golovkin was scheduled to fight Pirog in 2012, but Pirog withdrew. He's been the clear number one at he's weight for years. Martin Murray had fought the former consensus number one to a controversial decision. Scott and Duhappas hadn't done anything similar. Since then Golovkin beat another titlist in Lemieux, tried to fight Saunders and Eubank, fought a young dangerous puncher on a knockout streak in Jacobs, a guy who beat Quillin in a round, and defended against the biggest star in boxing, winning at least in the eyes of the consensus. Up until this weekend, Wilders best win was Stiverne. He looks like he's on the right track now, but he's still a maybe top 4 guy in he's own division still, with huge technical flaws and with stuff to prove. He may have knocked out everyone he's fought, but he's also been hurt, floored and behind on points against inferior fighters. So that's another difference.

Golovkin has fought much better fighters than Wilder has but that doesn't mean Golivkin fans can't appreciate Wilder. His power is unreal. He's exciting because you never know what's going to happen. Personally I'm not a fan of his boxing skills but I enjoyed the few fights I saw him in.

GGG actually fought the best middleweights at the time.

I've got to question someone who hates GGG and cites lack of skill or technique as the reason but is a Wilder fan. GGG competition is much better too.

Golovkin is a much classier person all round and a much better boxer.

Pirog got injured....golovkin has also lost to Jacobs & Nelo....golovkin would not beat Jermall.
