Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz's High Blood Pressure Concerned NYSAC Until Today!

NEW YORK Luis Ortiz was expected Saturday night to make it to the ring for his shot at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. That wasn't quite a certainty as late as Friday night. BoxingScene.com has learned that the New York State Athletic Commission had concerns about Ortiz's high blood pressure heading into their 12-round fight. The 6-feet-4 Ortiz weighed in at 241 pounds Friday afternoon at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Well Wilder is in a awkward spot lol If he wins it's because of Ortiz high blood pressure and if he loses he lost to a guy with high blood pressure who's 6 years his elder lol This guy can't catch a break he might as well be fighting Charles Martin he wouldn't get credit either way lol haha

Obviously the guy has legit issues with high blood pressure and hasn't taken the medication needed in fear of causing another positive test.

High blood pressure is a serious concern, but he has to be tested after the fight regardless.

Blood pressure pills at “38”, and he has been taking it now for a bit. Even “doe” it’s possible to have a high blood pressure in your mid-40s and upwards, it is rare to suffer from it in your mid-30s, especially when you are a pro athlete with regular fitness regime. This just shows me that he is way older than whatever age he is claiming, not that he is roiding.
