That's why I like BSing with you it shows(your passion)I had my 5 year HS reunion same night as Tyson v Holy 11 and was living in the cities at time so I ended up bringing like 10-12 guys back to my mothers house to watch it.Not one was a boxing fan but ALL wanted to see Tyson and most had heard of Holyfield. When I said I was stepping out for a bit they ALL knew where I was going so had no choice but to offer them to come watch fight. And then Mike goes off and gives boxing another black eye(boy boxing got a lot of eyes lol)
I remember being really confused at the time, I was only young and didn’t really understand what was happening. I just remember loads of people being in the ring, it looked more like a royal rumble than a boxing match at one point.
I had a 18 year old amateur middleweight give Saad Muhhamed fits when we got Saad ready for a title fight when he first started sparring.
The guy Saad fought got stopped by Saad but I don't think the 18 year old could stop the guy Saad stopped.'The gym sessions even when "opened up" don't bring the adrenaline up like a live fight will.
You can tell who's experienced boxing on the basic level because they know gym sessions regardless how there run is not the same as a fight.

Yea I remember going back to party and every one saying "Tyson is a monster".And me telling them he did that to quit it was a way out without losing.Mike could not fathom not being the baddest man in the world anymore. After Douglas people said it was a fluke and same after Holyfield 1 but their was no way to gloss over another loss.I really think that was in Mikes mind BEFORE fight.

People got to understand this is a job for these guys they have sparred thousands of rounds.Your not always UP for every spar and if your a pro for the most part your not tying to win your working on stuff. This is not a couple of novice Ams sparring in front of their dads.
There’s a famous saying bro, styles make fights. Gregorio Peralta went ten rounds with George Foreman twice yet was stopped in 5 rounds by former Light HW champ Willie Pastrano. Does that mean Pastrano hits harder than Foreman??? James Tillis went the distance with both Shavers and Tyson yet was stopped in 5 by Frank Bruno, stopped by Pinklon Thomas, Gary Mason etc. As I said styles make fights!
As for Wilder’s power, I’ll put it this way: When Wilder lands clean, the fighter usually ends up out cold. I’m no Wilder fan but I keep it real. I’m pretty sure Eric Molina by his own admission has even admitted Wilder is the hardest puncher he’s faced.
Timeliness of the fight means most. Tillis was in his prime vs Tyson but washed up fighting Holyfield and Bruno. Seeing Mercer go ten with Lennox yet knocked out by Wlad had more to do with mileage than styles.....
Molina even said Joshua power was better because he could not see the punch coming. Read his interview. Wilder is overrated as any fighter ever was in history, but so many hopeful of that great urban USA Heavyweight hope that it renders your instincts void.
Wilder had been knocked cold in sparring by wlad Klitschko and this had been confirmed by four reliable sources in camp:
Ali Bashir who was Wilders corner man in those sparring sessions. Said Wilder and the other sparring partner were both down and out.
Andy lee. Was in every wlad Klitschko camp because of their relationship with Manny said Wilder was knocked cold.
Johnny Nelson said Wilder was knocked cold twice and down once.
Whyte says the same.
Can you people please see reality fir what it is instead of drinking the kool aid to make your feel better about the USA boxing establishment? This is desperation to create a great urban hype. The new primo Carnera except different fanbase target.

Completely agree on that. I think Mike or certainly his corner were looking for a way out. I think they knew another humbling loss for Mike would really hurt his credibility and saleability. I remember as a young kid I was the only one out of me and all my dads friends that picked Holyfield, I remember my uncle going the bookies and everyone was betting on Tyson in 3, Tyson in 4 etc.

Fair point but Tillis was still in his prime when say Thomas stopped him for example, and Peralta fought Pastrano when Pastrano was coming near the end and went 10 rds twice with a prime Foreman. As I said styles make fights.
I agree Wilder is massively overrated by some, but his power is the least overrated element of his game. His power is 100% legit.
