Wilder isn’t as technically flawed as his critics claim. He’s actually pretty good at controlling distance with his jab. He’s solid defensively. And most of the time, he throws straight punches. Generally, the only time he loses his fundamentals is when he has a guy hurt. Obviously, it’s a bad flaw because just because a guy is hurt doesn’t mean he’s gonna stop punching. So Wilder is putting himself at risk to be caught. And he doesn’t finish as effectively as he could because he usually smothers his own offense. But the notion that he goes out there fighting like he’s a tough man competition participant instead of a world class fighter from bell to bell is a little absurd.

I still want to know how makes sense to these guys to say he has a bad defense but has a glass chin, one or the other, you can't have the two and be an undefeated champion, look at Price. And you didn't even talk about his in-fighting skills

Wilder has 39 fights but how many of the 39 were top heavyweights? 1 if even that.....lets be honest this is his 1st test...may the best man win...Early wilder has a chance the deeper it goes the worst it gets. Better get the crafty southpaw while he is cold or kiss ur AJ payday good bye.

wilder's power is overrated. he failed to stop stiverne in the first fight stiverne is trash. wilder is wild and sloppy. the heavyweight division is garbage right now.

Wilder is constantly improving.........

When Wilder started he really didn't have a good jab, very mechanical and very green. He's developed good movement, jab and a lot more technically sound. Ortiz fight will show if he's peaked or still on the rise. I will say Wilder jab looked crisp against Stivern. He's flawed but a good jab, great right hand, foot movement and speed is a lot to deal with for any fighter.
