Comments Thread For: DiBella: Hearn Wouldn't Make Joshua-Ortiz; Don't Question Wilder

Lou DiBella can't understand Eddie Hearn's rationale. DiBella, who promotes Deontay Wilder's fights, has taken exception to Hearn questioning Wilder's decision to take what Anthony Joshua's promoter deemed "a very high-risk fight" against Luis Ortiz "for a very small amount of money." Hearn assessed the risk related to Wilder opposing Ortiz compared to boxing one of Hearn's heavyweight contenders, Dillian Whyte, for more money in an interview with BoxingScene.com recently (https://www.boxingscene.com/hearn-wilder-taking-big-risk-very-small-amount-money--125686).

Lou isn't on point at all. Because wilder has been fighting weak completion for years and years. And everyone has complained so much about that fact for so long, that he had no choice but to finally fight a live dog. And now all of a sudden, years and years into his career, he's to be admired for facing a real fighter???? I beg to differ, Lou

Wilder isn't taking that big of a risk. Ortiz is old as dirt and Wilder has physical advantages over him. He should really win this fight.

Dibella is right. Hearn should just focus on AJ that's his cash cow. Hearn shouldn't worry about Wilder especially if he's not planning on making the fight this year. And if Hearn is concerned about how much Wilder is making does that mean he's going to play fair during negotiations when it comes time to make the AJ-Wilder fight?? Will he be okay with 60/40 or 50/50??
