I remember seeing an interview from around late 2016 and he was speaking English at first, but he got uncomfortable and the translator had to step in.

Reminds me of Cotto who couldn't speak any English when I first saw him back in 2004.

This would be a good idea. Golovkin does know 3 languages in German, Russian and Kazakhstani. He’s also done many interviews in German before. Seeing how Gennnady will most definitely retire after the Saul Alvarez fight it really shouldn’t matter.

Golovkin looked really nervous in the locker room and in the walk out. Let’s hope Golovkin comes walking out smiling as usual in all instances.
