Alvarez will win by decision, or won't. I respect the crud out of him. When he dropped that belt to fight a head of cabbage at 155 I defended him as a good warrior for Golden Boy which needed more money in their coffers to build up their stable again. Alvarez fought some crap fights, brought in good paydays, than told Oscar to get off his tail and sign Trip G. Not only did the fight happen, it was an entertaining battle that was a one round win for Golovkin or legit tie if you are not a fan boy of one of the fighters. But facts are facts: NO one , I repeat... not a single man.... has ever even wobbled Golovkin. He walks through everything ever thrown at him by a fellow MW. Even Danny Jacobs- not confirmed, but rumored to be about 170-175 for the fight which is why he skipped a mandated weigh in the day of the fight- could hurt him. Alvarez is not a natural MW and simply does not have the power to hurt Golovkin enough to put him down. Period.
He is however a tad more skilled. He throws much quicker punches, and throws them just as well from any angle. The dude is talented enough to throw combinations moving backwards, for crying out loud. If Golovkin cannot control the distance in this fight, he is playing into Alvarez' strengths and sets up a clear decision win for Golden Boy's golden child. If, however, Golovkin finds his range, that leaves his deadly jab setting up the body work Trip G did not have in the first fight which would totally negate Alvarez's best weapons. Golovkin can win either on points (honest judges PLEASE) or KO.
By the way... Golovkin has to take more chances than he did in the first fight. He was way to cautious for most of the 12 rounds in my opinion.
