    Think about it dumbass!
he couldn't make 154, after fighting 5 fights at 155lbs to move back down to 154 bc he didn't wanna defend a 160lbs title but then couldn't make 154 so he went back. up to 164.5 lbs to move to 160lbs. ???

Did you forget Canelo beat Lara and Trout in their prime??
And he vacated the junior middleweight belt to move up in weight. Fighters do that all the time.
And he fought the toughest fighter in the division after moving up in weight. He didn't cherrypick and take an easy fight.
So where's the harm in vacating the belt at 154???
        Lol @ ******.
Some of you dudes are so emotional. The fact that you can't hold a decent conversation without resorting to insults. Lol. So lame of you. Not even worth the convo anymore. Smh. Clown.

He was only allowed that optional defense with GGG's permission.

Gennady Golovkins priority is to unify the middleweight division against Saul Canelo Alvarez before entertaining the idea of catchweight super-fights, his promoter has reiterated.

GGG's promoter: "It was clear that the winner of Canelo-Cotto was obligated to face Gennady. When Canelo won they asked us for a voluntary defence and we allowed it."

If you’re wondering why it’s taking so long, step-aside fees have been paid to Golovkin by both Cotto and Canelo in order to prolong the imminent bout with the Kazakh knockout artist.

Alvarez had asked for, and received, dispensation from WBC boss Mauricio Sulaiman to take a voluntary defense instead, paying Golovkin step-aside money both times

These same people might also conveniently forget that Alvarez paid Golovkin step aside money on more than one occasion so that he could fight less dangerous albeit more lucrative opposition.

Golden Boy Promotions paid Golovkin some step-aside money to allow Canelo to fight Amir Khan on May 7, 2016

Golovkin and his team have also taken step aside money multiple times to allow Canelo and former champion, Miguel Cotto to take on other fights.

          http://www.************.com/2016/02/...get-strippped/

Tom Loeffler says the winner of the May 7 fight between WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) and Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) will have 15 days to decide whether they’ll defend the WBC 160lb title against Golovkin next.

If they choose not to face him, then they’ll be stripped of the title by the World Boxing Council for failing to face Golovkin, the mandatory challenger. According to Loeffler, they have it in writing that the winner of the Canelo-Khan fight must make a decision whether to face GGG.

“It wasn’t our side that asked for the voluntary defense. It was a request from Canelo and Golden Boy,” Loeffler said via ESPN.com. “It builds the fight with Canelo and Gennady. We have the voluntary defense against Wade, Canelo has his against Khan and after that it’s clearly stipulated that the winner of Canelo-Khan has 15 days to say they will fight Gennady (or Wade) or they’ll get stripped of the title. It’s in writing, but I can’t predict if Canelo will take the fight or not.”

Didn't he fight Triple already?? Why are you still bringing that up?
He dropped the belt cause Canelo is the A side and the biggest star in boxing and of course he's not gonna let a piece of shet alphabet soup organization tell him how much he's gotta pay his opponent. Canelo is bigger than any piece of shet belt and he don't need to fight for any belt to prove he's the biggest star in boxing.

So he vacates at 160 because it's too big, then after his next fight he vacates at 154 because it's too small? Vacating world titles two fights in a row because one is too big and one is too small? Did he want the sanctioning bodies to create a 157 pound division?

Canelo dictates how much he pays an opponent, not a piece of shet alphabet soup organization!
