Hagler, Sugar Ray, The Mayweather's, Tyson, Freddie Roach and and and....are all American's and have been publicly quoted on AJ. It's true he's not a superstar in America yet, but I think what all these people are pointing out is that he has the right combination of good looks, level headedness, ability and presence in front of a camera that make for a superstar. That seems like a fair comment.

Well if he bide's his time as long as Wilder did before he faces anyone then yeah, the whole current crop will be retired. How is it even possible for Wilder fans to apply a whole completely different measure of success to someone else when their own favourite done practically nothing for 35 fights?! For no reason but blind hate, someone on 20 fights is labelled ducking, over hyped, weak chinned, limited....he might be all of his things but let him have 20 more fights against washed up chumps and journeyman and then the label fitsComment

YES he is and when it comes to the US he will do very well here
With that being said, even though I'm a fan I protect NO ***ing Fighter so if he Jumps to HBO it is so that he can AVOID WILDER is how I will take that. It is not like HBO have any other Top Heavyweight for him to Fight and CBS/Showtime has the Money to match anything HBO can offer him. So again I'm call it now, if he truly does jump to HBO it is a ****ing DUCK, NO EXCUSES!Comment

Hagler is a guy who gets to say whatever he wants about boxing and it should carry weight with everyone.
Joshua is the biggest star in boxing today. He is not as big in the US, but I just shake my head at those who claim he is unknown here. If there is a sports fan, they know him. It is the non-sports fan that is clueless, which mean he is not as big here than in Europe. Canelo Alvarez is close, much bigger here in North America and HUGE in Spanish speaking countries. Next? "maybe" Golovkin, who has fought in England, has done big gates in New York and is popular in Mexico, but that is stretching it. His Pay-per-view numbers as the "A" side have been modest. I also think if we are being truthful, Manny still sells. He is a shell of himself and is going to hurt his legacy, but I bet the PPV with him on it boosts the Crawford/Horn fight that otherwise was a ESPN headliner. That is still star power.
Joshua simply is the biggest star in the biggest division. That is enough for me to give him the edge over Alvarez, who doesn't care as he prints money every time he fights.Last edited by landotter; 02-28-2018, 03:09 AM.Comment
