Comments Thread For: Badou Jack Plots His Path To Success, One Career at a Time

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Badou Jack has the fight he wanted. The decorated former Olympian will meet the lineal king of the 175-pound division hard-punching Canadian-based southpaw Adonis Stevenson on May 19 in "Superman's" adopted Montreal backyard. But while he concedes the imminent matchup could be career-defining in nature, the husband and soon-to-be father of two children is also focused on what'll happen long after the winner's hand is raised...

I dig Jack & root for the guy cuz he seems like a genuine good person in a f#cked up business, but the last thing the world needs is another athlete with a supplement company using his nickname as the company name. Screams "70% Off All Products...Going Out Of Business" to me, but w/e live & learn. Hope he knows what he's doing & spending minimal money on this. Not the most expensive business to start from my understanding.

I still lean Stevenson, but Jack is a real fighter and sounds like he is short term focused, long term planning which I so love. Let's see how each looks in a couple months.

I am so pumped for this....

Side note: I really need to pay more attention to Japan boxing. There are a lot of title matches in the lighter divisions this week.

Ortiz by KO. You people are selling him short. Just a look in his eyes and you say he gets KOd in 6? Look at the emotional expense Wilder is running. He comes out to impress and gets caught and KOd himself.

Jack is doing all the right things. I would like to see him win. He's got to take that left off the one armed bandit.

I agree with you! My buddy owns the top gym in the country IMHO located in Chicago, Quads Gym. He does a great volume on supplements but has reduced his inventory to 20 different products. TWENTY. Massive competition in that business and many good products sit on the shelf because consumers are fickle. Casual athletes that hit the gym to socialize are the worst. It's hard to beat Optimum Nutrition, Labrada and American Body Builder. Good luck Badou Jack. He's a good guy.

Vitamins and supplements are for losers. Undetectable peds is where the money is at. That is what the winners take.

                  Like both guys especially Badou.

However its a tough ask of Badou whose style seems to play into the hands of one of the most pure one punch KO artist in the game today, one arm or not.

                    Some great fights coming up.

I like Jack and his performance against Cleverly was top notch.

I see a problem in the style matchup as Jack likes to circle around the pocket just inside the range with his hands ala Mike Tyson style, tucked under his chin. Stevenson likes a wide stance with his arms loose mostly except for his reputed left.
If Jack can take Stevenson's left well, then I give him a good chance to win, probably by close decision, but hopefully, KO that cherry-picker.

Would still like to know why Jack vacated the chance to fight Bivol for the WBA strap. Maybe he's doing a little cherry picking himself.
