Fight was stopped because hurt fighter couldn't and - more importantly - wouldn't continue. He sat on the ropes and did not try to get up. That is why the fight was stopped.

The alleged "low blows" occurred because Kovy bent over and sat down. That in addition to crying to the ref (6th, 7th) and turning his back on Ward (in the 7th).

Appropriate stoppage. However, I would've rather ref let on so Sergio got beaten more severe. And literally pummeled into submission since some of you supremacists think there's a "grain of doubt" regarding the outcome lmfao

Kovalev was definitely coming apart because of legitimate shots that were building up over the course of the fight but **** that ending pissed me off, sometimes watching Ward it's downright infuriating. Didn't care who won, he didn't even get the clean victory like it look like he was going to get. awful ending

what a difference the ref makes...this could be the ref stopping the fight after floyd "quits" cause floyd could no longer continue. same argument right? judah and ward could have been on the same level of greatness if they had the same ref

Kovalev was probably winning or it was even.

But the fight was swinging towards Ward.

Ward had landed some previous low blow and Weeks ignored them, and in the 8th he landed a lot more, which ultimately ended the fight.

The way the fight was going, with Kovalev gassing out, it was likely to be a Ward victory, shame low blows and a the ref spoiled the fight.


As for the first fight, Kovalev won that by at least 3-5 rounds.

I wish the ref had let the fight go on. Ward was about to finish Kovalev off for good and Weeks robbed him of a conclusive ending.
