I had it 7-5 for SSR, but would be fine with the same score Estrada. I have zero problems with old Roman giving his opinion. I see him as a true man that ducked no one, moved up the divisions, and met up with a power fighter that was just to much for him and his smaller frame. He was P4P King for a while. His fight expertise is a notch above most. But this was not a clear win for SSR, it was not a clear robbery for Estrada. It was a fight of the year contender that needs a part 2.Comment

I think Kovalev won the first fight with Ward.
I think Trip G beat Canelo.
I think Sugar Ray Leonard - maybe my all time favorite boxer- lost to Marvin Hagler.
I think Estrada lost fair and square to Sor Rungvisai, and I watched that fight with music playing until basically the last three rounds.
Where does that leave me on your "Americans are sheep-like fans that just buy into what commentators say on TV" scale?Comment

Totally agree. The man has earned my respect, and I have picked against him three straight times. He just is fun to watch stalk his prey in that ring with a kid-like smile on his face. Punches with authority and loves his sport.Comment

I feel Sor won that fight. He beat Gonzalez and Estrada, who both moved up in weight. They could not move Sor with their punches, while Sor hurt them with his.
I thought Estrada boxed well, but he can't hurt Sor. He may have won on points, but the judges saw it like I did, they saw the difference in power.
Sor needs to fight the real superflyweights, Jerwin Ancajas and Naoya Inoue. These guys will hurt him well, not like Gonzalez or Estrada.Comment

Good point. Estrada looked good around the 7th or 8th but didn't maintain his momentum for long enough. I feel as though he could have won had be started earlier but Sor Rungvisai deserved the nod Las night.Comment

Estrada had one good round in the 12th and Rungvisai pretty much matched him punch for punch in that one. Estrada was way too cautious for th majority of the fight. Once he started to let his hands go (around the 8th) he did a lot better. I would favor Estrada in the rematch because he is the better boxer. However, Rungvisai has bricks in his fists and everything he throws is to hurt his opponent. He's also skilled enough himself to make adjustments.
Roman Gonzalez is clearly bitter about getting his soul taken by Rungvisai.Comment
