WOW a white man in a majority minded sport and country was rated higher than a black man that he ducked 4 seperate times...

sure pal...but honestly ward could have fought kov and for lineage...he elected to not do so...for 5 years ward refused to fight adonis form 2013 when kovalev wasnt evne around so beat it

steveson offered 4 million bucks to fight but that is not serious? you clowns need to hang for your bs

Stevenson is more retired than Ward is. He’s been keeping belt hostage. No mando since 5 years ago? That’s crazy. He and Ward would have been a very interesting fight a couple of years back.

so now it's a race issue and we'll just ignore that ward and mayweather were atop that same list. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the fact that Kovalev went on to face better competition while Stevenson was fighting fonfara twice. As far as ducking, everyone knows of the 2 who really wanted the fight and who was content beating up on lesser competition.

LINEAGE DUCKER! KOVALEV DUCKED LINEAGE 4 TIMES WITH ADONIS..and he goes back to hbo refusing to pay adonis to call adonis a ducker of him!...that is BS
Don't think he struggled in the second fight, low blow or not. He was fighting at a much higher tempo in the second fight and Kovalev couldn't handle it. He was already gassed in four rounds in the second fight and Ward was just coming on strong.

His retirement strategy, I wouldn't worry about that if I were you.

Ward thinks he can pull the Mayweather but he can't. Their bodies are not made the same.

Mayweather could retire for two years and comeback like looking like he just fought 3 months ago.

Ward took 3 or 4 fights to be ready for Kovalev and he still wasn't even ready.

It took him time to adjust to Kovalev's elite speed and power in the first fight and he himself didn't look as fast and explosive as he was before the lay off.

It was only in their second fight that you could see the old Ward coming to the fore. His speed, his timing, his energy, his movement, everything was on point in the second fight.

If it takes him that long however to get back in top gear then this retirement strategy of his will get him beat badly.

He actually should have stayed active coz then he would have gotten better and with every fight.

Won't be surprised however if he loses his next fight, this strategy will definitely backfire IMO.

Why do you believe Stevenson ducked Kovalev? Kovalev asked to be named Stevenson's mandatory, but then when the WBC tried to enforce the mandatory, Kovalev refused to fight.

It's very clear, indisputable, publicly available easily verifiable information that Kovalev ducked Stevenson.

So why are you under the impression that it's the other way around?

Stevenson was a restricted free agent and it was his obligation to seek the best offer and then present it to HBO. HBO, over a very small amount of money, refused to match the deal and make Stevenson vs. Kovalev.

So Stevenson went to Showtime to face Hopkins, who at the time was considered a much bigger fight than Kovalev.

Then, unfortunately, Hopkins ducked Stevenson and jumped to HBO to face Kovalev, which was considered a much smaller fight.

Stevenson was the one being ducked in that whole situation, not the one doing the ducking.

Thankfully, the WBC ended up naming Kovalev the mandatory to Stevenson when Kovalev became a TV free agent. It was something Kovalev requested and the WBC said yes.

Then when the WBC tried to enforce the fight, Kovalev vacated his diamond title and refused to fight Stevenson.

Were you not aware of these easily verifiable facts?
