  • Comments Thread For: Bellew is Convinced That He Can Put Usyk To Sleep

Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew has already stated that he intends to drop back to his former weight division. Bellew moved up to the heavyweight division last March and pulled off a stunning upset with an eleventh round TKO of domestic rival David Haye. They have a rematch scheduled for May 5th at the O2 Arena in London, and that will be the final fight of Bellew's run in boxing's biggest division.

Probably he exchanged Usyk with another fighter. The guy's on his way to the top three of the boxing ******s.

no chance whatsoever. not in usyks class. i do like bellew, cheer him on in his fights but i think he'd have seriously struggled in that cruiser tournamen and not just against usyk.

He wants Usyk. What he really means is that he'd rather be schooled by Usyk than to be sparked out by Gassiev. If Gassiev wins the tourney I doubt he'll take the fight.

Same as me, never 'liked' Bellew per se, but never found a reason to dislike him, I'm happy for him to get a few money fights before he retires.

            That said, Usyk schools him.

(On another note, I'm leaning towards Gassiev beating Usyk in the final - though I'd be happy to be wrong)

So he's basically admitting he has no chance outside of landing a ****** left hook?

Bellew is better than briedis and he gave usyk a really tough fight. Usyk is brilliant but not unbeatable and I give Tony a chance. Too many people on here don't rate bellew because of his LHW days and it's total bull. He's much better at CW.

Really? Based on? I fail to see how he does anything better at all.
Why didn't Bellew fight him when Breidis was his mandatory?

Disagree, breidis has fought better competition and looked better. Who has helped beat at cruiserweight that makes you think he's that good? I'm not saying he didn't fight anyone but he didn't fight the best at 200
