    Welshman Dale Evans, who was involved in a fatal fight with Mike Towell in 2016, has announced his retirement from boxing, saying he has lost his hunger for the sport. Scottish fighter Towell suffered a brain injury in a bout with Evans in Glasgow 17 months ago.

    Very honest from Dale. I think the Mike Towell situation must have really affected him. Hopefully he can get the hunger back or find something positive to do with his life. All the best.

        Don't recall knowing of this guy although I do vaguely remember that Towell guy. But fair play to him. I can't imagine professional boxing is a easy career IF you aren't involved in horrific incidents like he was. So that has to take a toll on anyone above & beyond normal bs you'd have to deal with. Looks like he only lost to prospects or respectable guys so had a respectable enough career. Good luck to him outside of boxing.

          Too bad, was a solid British level fighter, but totally fair play considering what he's been through. Hopefully he finds some comfort away from the sport

            I don't blame him at all for retiring. Boxing is a brutal sport it takes a different breed of human beings to choose a profession in which your body is taking that amount of damage and yet you love doing it even with the consequences. I wish him the best.
