Tyson beat a lot of Fringe contenders and no one's and guys that were over the hill and a very small mike Spinks to me is vastly overrated and does not even belong in the top 10 of the all timers...
All u lil booger smashing Millenials on this hype bout how the New Generation wud smash the old needa recount ur leftover braincells!!
Tyson Generation was hardcore n Generations before even harder! Why y'all think they got bicycle laws to wear helmets nowadays n laws against climbing trees? Cause all u lil b***h a$$ cry babies wanna go to the E.R. on a sc****d knee!!
Tyson wuda made easy wrk outta Wilder... at the pre-fight conference. Deontay wuda been on his phone to his mom n then to call his lawyer to press charges n Tyson wuda told him he'd eat his kids for breakfast n tha's that! That was also Prime Tyson
Whatever drug or bottle you on put it down... I like all boxers old school and new but Im stating facts.. Mike was on drugs, SRL was on drugs have ever read his book? no... & the same guy who tyson said that too.. he knocked him out when they fought, Lennox Lewis
Isn't it so nice for you guys to always make excuses for why Mike Tyson lost? Tyson was always doing blows and hookers. How come it was in this fight now that he lost?
Why are they classified as excuses ? He self-destructed during and after the Givens debacle, arrived in Tokyo overweight and under-trained, changed his management and trainers from a team that worked (Rooney) to one that didn't. Once in Tokyo isolated himself in his room a lot of the time eating 1 meal a day to lose weight.
No top class fighter can or will ever be able to do what he was doing and get away with it. That he did this to himself between ages 22 and 24 is one of the great tragedies of boxing as the question will always be 'just how good could he have been ?'. Just imagine, heavyweights typically peak in their 30s - take the 22 year-old Tyson and add 10 years of Lomachenko style dedication, what would we have got ?
This is the state of boxing now when a champion degrades a former champion. Ali said Marciano would beat him after the computer show. Marciano said Louis would hacve beaten after their bout.
Point being everyone has their own opinion about match ups but when current fighters speak out about past fighters it's a shame they can't display humility and respect.
Wilder is an arrogant conceited jerk. It's one thing to think you are the best heavyweight in history and be confident in yourself. It's another thing to say your are the best heavyweight in history. That is disrespectful to heavyweights of the past. If he really was the best heavyweight ever he wouldn't need to tell the fans because they would already know he was that good. He wouldn't have to constantly brag himself up and tell how great he is.Am I supposed to believe that Dempsey, Louis, Foreman, Tyson, Ali, Liston and Lewis would need 9 rounds to beat Molina and some of the other mediocre guys who lasted so long with Wilder?I don't believe that.
Listen guys mike tyson wasnt a top 15 heavyweight if he knows this. He lost to ****ing buster douglas when he was in his prime. His resume is a joke. Lost in every big fight bar the spinks one.
Looks like you forgot that he folded in half a prime, 6'3" Pinklon Thomas and a 6'4"Bone Crusher Smith. Both great jabs and both said they were too big for Tyson. Then there was 6'3" Larry Holmes and 6'3" prime Frank Bruno and 6'4" Carl the Truth Williams. Seems like every guy you didn't mention would be favored over Wilder and some by a wide margin. Don't get me wrong, Wilder certainly has some natural athletic ability, he hits hard and he's awkward but that's about it. So far, what I've noticed is that Wilders footwork is awful and after throwing a punch he's always, and I mean always, out of position.
The truth is that Mike Tyson fought big men with better skills than Wilder and Mike beat them, that's a fact.
Until we see Wilder in with someone other than a paycheck player we don't know where Wilder fits in the grand scheme of things.
Wilder is 6'7". You are talking about 6'3", 6'4" guys. Please, stop comparing apples to oranges. Further, we can respectfully disagree on who is favored over the other. I will not favor any of them over Wilder.
Now, on who forgot what - Wilder has a great jab. How come you missed that out? He fights well on the back foot. Did you forget that too? Does he get wild and careless sometimes? Yes, he does. Does he have weaknesses? Yes, he does.
I do not see any of the big men who can beat Wilder. You do - you have no evidence to show that. Neither do I. My assessment and inference are based on how Wilder has dealt with everyone so far. He has not lost. He has beat all the 6'3", 6'4", 6'5" guys easily. Now, those are facts.
