Definitely. Anytime some guy you beat does some bigger things post-the L to you it always bumps you up a lil bit at a minimum.

Thats why Floyd's impact on boxing doesn't really settle into place for the next generation til we see how far Canelo goes in the game & to a lesser degree those still around who could potentially do something in the future.

Groves is just in the right place at the right time for now at least with Jack going to lhw.

With Kessler, Ward, Froch moving on\retiring the division is awful, the new era didn't come close to filling the void they left behind the one decent fighter that emerged was Jack who cleaned up and moved on leaving the duds to battle it out.

Groves has never been the best even in any era. If he goes on and beats Smith and say Zurdo then it changes but frankly I feel he losses to both as he always has when he's fought a truly top SMW and not a hyped up MW.

He's a good fighter still but that's where it ends. BJS beat Eubank too at his best weight nobody hypes that win why is it so great Groves won? People are going on like its some great career defining win that boosts everyones legacy or something, I think its people trying to justify the hype tbh.

To be honest I knew Groves would come back and do well, the only question was whether he was damaged goods. His loss to Jack was a close fight and if you look at his 3 losses they came against two of the most underrated fighters in recent years. Froch is the 2nd best 168lber of his generation and the guy that was above him was special.

Groves is starting to put together a nice little resume lets see how far he gets.
