yeah, I agree. I always though rios would make easy work of Ortiz in Rios fashion in about 7-10 rounds. Now I think the tables may have turned a bit to present a more even playing field when it comes to durability. Will Rios chin hold up longer than Ortiz Desire to quit? or vice versa.
So Where Does Brandon Rios Go From Here IF HE CONTINUES HIS CAREER?

Berto, Broner, Vargas, Peterson, Granados, Figueroa, Alexander, Ortiz, Collazo....
There's plenty of fights out there for Rios. I'd definitely watch him fight any of ^ those guys. Rios has never been top level so he he should just stick to fighters his class.Comment
-
But how many more L's can he take before even those fights dont matter or appeal to you no more?
What if he fights Collazo next and losses.
would Berto, Broner, Vargas, Peterson, Granados, Figueroa, Alexander, Ortiz, still interest you?Comment
-
He obviously need to take on a softie next but after that I think he could hang with any of those guys I mentioned. Rios is must see TV for me like Arturo Gatti was no matter how many losses were on his record. He just needs to stick to fighters his class.Comment
-
I agree with this aswell. I like rios always knew what he was and what he wasnt was great to see him over achieve and I think he did himself no favors but I do think he can **** with anyone of them and possibly pull out a great W here and there when the stars allighn for him.Comment

Still can be a entertaining Undercard Fighter
Brandon Rios vs Omar Figueroa would be FUN! Rios vs Granados would be INCREDIBLE!
Rios vs David Avanesyan, Rios vs Victor Ortiz FINALLY, Rios vs DeMarco
Plenty of match ups for him that would be very entertaining.Comment

Rios-Ortiz
Garcia-Alexander
-on the same card would be a decent PBC card.
As far as Rios future, he should be strategic and only take a couple of more money fights and retire. He's way too punchy and past his best to continue in this brutal sport.Comment

He should retire. He sounds punchy when he talks. He is a face fighter and has taken many more hard head punches than most boxers. He looks very soft at 147. I think his proper fighting weight is 135. He is a bigger puncher at that weight and lightweights don't punch as hard.Comment

Victor Ortiz is really the only Rios fight I wanna see from here out. Then the winner of that fight can go on to lose to someone more serious & then retire.Comment

Keep dedicated in the gym, target the Victor Ortiz fight, and be willing to be a gatekeeper to the top of the welterweight division.
He's likely never going to be a champion at 147lbs, but an in-shape and motivated Brandon Rios is still a really good fighter.
Jamal James needs a good fight, Rios still has a good name, and we're still not sure how good James is really; if he doesn't have the chance to be really good, he doesn't get passed a motivated Brandon Rios.Comment
