Im not sure if people hate miguel or hate his fans. Although i like cotto and think hes quite exciting, i feel he is overrated by his fans and in many cases SOME of his fans can be irrational. However, i dont hate or dislike Cotto himself.

The hate is based mostly from the fans without a doubt. A lot of diehard fans and followers say really dumb **** inrelation to their favorite fighter to defend them and whatnot. You sometimes have to just let the things they say go right over your head and not take them seriously because a lot can just be ****** **** that makes you question the person's intellect. I'm a Manny fan though I feel I remain unbiased in most of my posts related to him. Though that's mainly because I'm not Filipino so I don't worship him as a God. I'm Puerto Rican and I love Cotto's style of all out brawl and action for the most part though I don't hug his nuts as a lot of the other PRs on this forum do. It's just a fan thing is the bottom line in the end.

About a year ago maybe longer the same question was asked and I said that hating was sign that a fighter has the potential to be a big superstar.

People said he wouldn't last long. Well Cotto is still here, still undefeated and his popularity is still rising. Last weekend there were over 14,000 people in attendance at MSG and he was in the main event. He will become a huge superstar one day so keep hating.

I was one of them, thats why is hard for me to understand how people where saying it was a competetive fight. I saw a one sided ass kicking but then again I was TANKED!
