I'm struggling with this one because I think both will be dismissed if they lose convingly.

Having said that, I think Parker will come back if he loses - while Ortiz will probably retire?

If you look at the resume Parker has fought a few tough individuals (even if none at elite level) while Ortiz hasn't really fought anyone of note.

Interestingly both have looked poorer in there previous few fights with both being criticized against opposition who "ran" (fury/scott). I do think parkers opposition were tougher/harder though, and obviously he had a belt on the line.

As an overall you have to therefore say Parker on balance is a tougher fight, and certainly has the characteristics of showing he is more durable. Time will tell of course.

A level or 2 higher without 3 collective Ws better than Parkers wins over Ruiz Jr, Fury, or Takam.

When Oscar had a Marquee billing for Ortiz to fight on HBO, he turned down a fight with Fedosov who had just won the Boxino tournament.

        Ortiz refused Fedosov.
Jennings and KJ were GBPs preference. But after life changing paydays in their previous fights.....

When Fedosov signed the contract for 105k, the date set, etc etc..
        Ortiz refused outright.
GBP ended up paying a dog catcher 105k just to save face with the commission.

To appease HBO, Oscar paid Jennings 350k while losing money on the event.
The WBA wanted Ortiz v Ustinov for an eliminator....

Instead, Ortiz wanted Scott, settled for 45 y/o Thompson.

        Anyone else see the pattern.

Not an orthodox HW with a strong OH R, a good chin, and a thick enough body to work inside.

This cheat hasn't fought a thick puncher in his career.

        Takam would KHTFO

No comparison, Ortiz is much more dangerous.

            Agreed.

Parker is a good solid Heavyweight but the only reason he's a Top 5 Heavyweight is because the division is poor at the moment

            1. Deontay Wilder.
            2. Anthony Joshua
            3. Alexander Povetkin
            4. Luis Ortiz
            5. Joseph Parker

Parker has shown he's at the level with guys like Ruiz Jr, and Takam but he hasn't shown any thing extra to suggest he can be Number 1.

Ortiz is still somewhat of an enigma, the skills and talent are definitely there but has to be tempered with the fact he's failed drug tests.

I'm looking far more to Wilder vs Ortiz then i am to Parker vs Joshua.

Wilder vs Ortiz is a very intriguing fight that either man can win.

I just haven't seen any thing from Parker to suggest he has the beating of Joshua.

What makes Ruiz Jr and Hughie so good? People like to throw their names about and make out they're this and that but who have they beaten? They haven't one decent win between them. Has either beaten anybody even the top 50?

Ones about 5ft6 and 120lb overweight the others a HW version of Paulie Malignaggi.

Neither is as good as Jennings and Takam ain't either. Are the former really any better than Scott or an ancient Thompson? Takam wouldn't knock anyone out he struggled with a 60yr old Thompson now he's going to knock out Ortiz? lol

Andy Ruiz Jr his best win is a 46yr old Ray Austin who hasn't been relevant for a decade as for Hughie he's beaten nobody that ever was relevant.

Malik Scott has a better resume than both lol

Parker. He's the world champion and I would say has the better resume.
