      He always gives his best
He has had highs and lows
And I have no problem with saying he is one of the best British fighters of recent times

Yeah he may not be an A+ Fighter but not everybody can be

Anyway give it up for George "UglyKid" Groves

      The Man Deserves some credit.....

      Heal up for the final
      We are rooting for ya
Big Groves fan myself, I went to the Eubank fight and a lot of UK fans have a lot more appreciation for Groves now. I
remember going to Froch 1 and the vast majority of the crowd disliked him.
I’m glad he’s finally getting some much deserved credit.

          He's naturally physically gifted.

Has good power, ability to throw beautiful combinations(when he's not being wreckless), stamina, volume, physical strength, he's slick (although nothing special defensively) he has a lot to work with, large variety of different punches in his arsenal, mentally strong/resilient as well.

He needs to learn how to set up his power shots with a jab, how to cut off the ring properly, how to set traps, etc.

I do agree that mentally he's very tough but I dunno just come up short on boxing fundamentals twice now.

I wonder how much he can pick up at aged 28.

I think it was Bellew that said he can fight but he can't box. He's like Mayorga or something

I've always viewed fundamentals as things that can always be taught and learned.

He possesses abilities which can't be taught on the other hand, you either have it or you don't.

I do agree he has similarities to Mayorga in that sense, and at 28 he's definitely not where he should be for the level he's fighting at in terms of boxing ability. He's not one dimensional but he lacks severely in fundamentals for sure...its a weird combination.

Hopefully he can get a decent trainer to develop these skills, he needs some time away from fighting where he can work on them in a gym. I like Virgil Hunter or Derrick James as trainers for him, I feel they can add a lot to his game.
