I mean, either way he is going to get counterprogrammed by a Lomachenko title fight against a Hispanic boxer on ESPN after an NBA Playoffs lead in, which means either way he is going to be counterprogrammed by a boxing show that does two to three times as many viewers as his HBO replay. At least with Lomachenko-Linares, it will be by a show that features one of his boxers, and he will be doing what's in the best interest of his boxer Linares.
So far the way this has been reported, it's like Eric Gomez thinks his options are to either be counterprogrammed by Lomachenko-Linares on May 12th, or to not be counterprogrammed. Can someone please explain to him, he is getting counterprogrammed either way, and the ratings for Lomachenko-Beltran are not going to be that much lower than the ratings for Lomachenko-Linares would be. Beltran is Mexican, and he's entertaining. If Lomachenko isn't already bringing in big ratings by himself, then the Mexican Beltran, the NBA lead in, and this being Lomachenko's first fight at 135, for a title, are going to bring in the rest anyway. It's like none of the reporters, or Eric Gomez himself, or Peter Nelson, understand this.

Lol. That sounds like another byproduct of your poor reading comprehension. I highly doubt that's accurate, and if it is, it would simply be an example of a poison pill type of offer to get Linares to back off the ESPN offer, but without ever having to pay Linares that because they know it's an impossibility, what with Lomachenko being contractually bound to ESPN and all. Sorry for all the big words btw.
But, I give the odds of it being a real poison pill offer at 1%. I put the odds of you having subpar reading comprehension and comprehension of logic in general, and of you confusing Linares individual purse with the total network fee HBO was offering GBP to split between Loma and Linares, at 99%.

Linares and his co-promoters know they will not make $1.2 mil fighting anyone else and by far his biggest payday of his career. Golden Boy are not doing whats best for Linares. Golden Boy needs to accept the May 12 date.

Prime Don King > arum
Bob arum is a fkin cancer to this sport. I know it’s wrong but he has done enough. He needs to go.
Like let me guess, you probably like Haymon, right? If so, it's like you went from being a Don King fan to a Haymon fan. I wasn't a hardcore boxing fan during the Don King era so I can't speak on that, although it was a better era for boxing overall that's for sure, but as for Al Haymon, the amount of money he had to spend compared to the average quality of the fights he put on TV has to be the worst ratio in the history of the sport. He took almost a billion dollars, totally messed up the economics of the sport by sort of creating this huge fake bubble that is now bursting, and I say fake because the increase in boxer's purses was not at all consistent with the revenue their fights were actually generating, but were simply a result of a huge hedge fund Haymon was randomly given for some reason (by the Illuminati maybe? Lol. I mean, it all made so little sense, you have to wonder), signed up almost all the American talent in the sport and the bottom half of the top foreign boxers, then proceeded to either put them all in repeated mismatches for years, or keep them from fighting at all.
Al Haymon has been terrible for boxing so far, and yet you have tons of fans who praise him but **** on Bob Arum. I'm not going to praise Arum but it's just confusing to me. In fact I will criticize Arum when he deserves it, but anyone who doesn't start their criticism of modern promoters with Al Haymon loses a lot of credibility with me. Arum might be the second worst, or the third worst after Oscar, but there is no competition for who the worst has been for the sport of boxing. That is Al Haymon. And if you like Haymon, then I can't really trust your opinion about Don King either, and it would just make it look like you don't judge these guys on the merits, but on race. But if you agree Haymon has been the worst for boxing, but you still like the job Don King did, then I could entertain that opinion much more seriously.

This was all smoke and mirrors. Like someone said earlier. This was to say see we tried and then dump a sht fight on the fans.

full ****** swing against Lomachenko. Like
We will never fight Walters
We will never fight Rigo
He will never fight Linares/Mike/Berchelt/move up etc.
He actually offered Linares payday and exact day to fight happen. GBP refuse coz of replay? good luck to linares with fighting some tier 3 fighter for 200k
those who said Loma is avoiding Berchelt, he has fight with miguel and loma has no other options at 130 to stay there
Mike is at 140 but I still see it happening end of 2018 or early 2019.

Originally posted by Boxing Logic View PostNo, the post you responded to said GOLDEN BOY doesn't want Linares to go to ESPN. Then you responded, "Why would he?" as if they said Linares. Once again your reading comprehension is the cause of all this confusion and stress for you. I'm sorry you are dealing with these issues, truly, but it's causing chaos on these message boards and that's why I'm trying to make you self aware about it. You see Linares has actually already agreed to fight on ESPN. He even tweeted that he wanted to do it on May 12th. So next time, maybe reread the post you're responding to a couple times before responding. Maybe that will clear up a lot of the issues with you on this forum in the future. Peace.

According to Erc Gomez of GB, he told me HBO would pay more than ESPN, which means well over $2 million since Loma is going to make seven-figures.
