  • Close fight, no problem with the decision. ESPN and Arum basically hand wrapped a belt and gave it to Beltran because it’s a cool story. So from a boxing fan’s prospective, he’s a paper trinket. But as a human being, I’m happy for him because his story is amazing.

That said, we know how Part II to this story goes. Beltran is keeping that belt warm for Lomachencko. It’ll make for a cool storyline. The tough, gritty, former sparring partner turned champion tries his luck against maybe the most virtuoso performer in the game. Maybe I’m off base here. But I have no desire to watch Lomachencko box circles around Beltran. And that’s not a knock on Beltran and a compliment to Lomachencko. Only thing that immediately comes to mind as a comparison is when Floyd fought Gatti. Any real boxing fan knew the result to that before it happened. Lomachencko-Beltran will be no different. I like Beltran. And have no desire to see him embarrassed and exposed.

So said anyone about racism you ****ing POS. I am not even black, you ****ing ****. These Western promoter use our African boxers to further career of their main, using they could get easy win. Even when they do well to win they are robbed or cheated with ridiculous score.

I would rather African boxers are not given the opportunity than be demoralized by greedy ****s..

      So **** yourself

          • Boxers using their personal story, to gain favor from the media and judges, whether intentional or not...I'm not a fan of that.

Beltran is the latest one...the ESPN commentator was clearly in Beltran's corner, due to the backstory.

But it was a good phone booth fight though. Beltran would be out working moses, then, OH ! Moses would suddenly land a hard shot. This happened about 2 or 3 times a round.

If you want to say Beltran out pointed him, okay. But he got his bell rung by Moses several times.

Guys. Understand that when you have a competitive fight, you get rounds that can go either way. When you have rounds that can go either way, you get a wide variety of final scores.

I have no problem with the scores, but they don't accurately reflect how close the fight was. I do however think that Beltran deserves the win. I felt like he did enough.
I get what you're saying but how many swing rounds did you honestly see?

Assuming you meant 117-111, but if that was the case, how far the other way could the fight have gone with you still being fine with it?

I think I had 3-4 rounds that could've been seen either way so, pulling those out, you still had Beltran clearly winning 5 of the remaining 8 rounds?

              • My recording cut off before the last round, but it felt like Moses won a lot of the middle rounds, while Beltran won early rounds and later rounds. Moses really turned the tide the moment he was rocked by a right hand in an earlier round. I didn't score the fight, but 117-111 is definitely ridiculous. It the way the sport goes unfortunately.
