Comments Thread For: Eubank Sr. Urges Referee To Save Groves From Taking Too Many

Chris Eubank has reiterated his call for the referee to keep a close eye on Saturday's George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr bout given what happened when the latter fought Nick Blackwell. Former British middleweight champion Blackwell collapsed at the end of his defeat by Eubank Jr in March 2016, and was found to have suffered a bleed on the skull and put into an induced coma, and subsequently retired from the sport aged 25.

We all know the dangers. Silly Sr. is trying with his ******ity to prompt the referee force a stoppage in his sons favour the first time Jr. let's go with his fast light punchers.

Love the badge he wears ...what a prat.

To be fair, Groves probably caused the worst injury out of the pair of them so hopefully the ref doesn’t let anyone get too battered.

This is wrong. He could have mentioned this at any time in the last few months but not the day before the fight.

Well, Blackwell ended in a coma after the Eubank fight, both tragic fights for sure.

Both Father and Son need to STFU and let the best man win on Saturday.

All this 'Junior is a barbarian, murderer, animal' stuff is pure BS.

They are a pair of smug kunts, and I hope Jnr gets smashed to be honest.

This is classless from Sr. Groves has fought much tougher opponents than Eubank while Jr has consistently dodged the best at world level....Saunders, Jacobs, GGG.... he actually gave up the WBA interim to move down a level and fight Blackwell (who he put in a coma).... this guy has no shame, and casuals buy into it! this is the first real test of his career, and he's been ready to step up for 2 years apparently. there is nothing from Eubanks performances that make him favourite or make people think he will do damage to Groves as he has never fought near this level.

You will see tomorrow, if you think Eubank will win you are in for a big shock.

Blackwell was a massive step down for Eubank at that time, he actually gave up his WBA interim to drop down as Jacobs was the Regular champ........this is why people (or people that know boxing) hate Eubank. He's a serial duck and a fraud who beats on lower level opponents.

GG is a real nice guy. He's very likable. He's a family man who loves his wife kids and dogs which sits well with me. He is devoid of trash talk and quite philosophical and soft spoken but every time there are these prediction treads it's the same thing. There are always the guys that base their predictions and bets on the guy they like or against the guy they don't like. I have lost count of the number of times I have heard someone say '' I'm picking this guy to win because I don't like the other guy'' and that is the only thing they base their assessment on. If you are serious about making a prediction you should make with your head and not your heart. The Rigondeaux Loma fight was the easiest fight in years to assess yet there many pundits picking GR because they were anti Loma. It's plain to see who the crowd favorite is when you can hear the cheers for Groves and the boo's for Jr at the weigh-in but the only possible outcome for this fight is a win for Jr. I won't particularly enjoy seeing Groves getting beaten but I will handle it better than those who actually think he has a chance.
