Ask hopkins what he thinks of Dibella. Why did you cut the part out about Hopkins being sued and losing and not paying?

"This fight means a lot to me," said Hopkins, who has hammered DiBella mercilessly during the buildup. "I got a chance to beat Jermain Taylor and also foreclose on Lou DiBella's company, because his company relies on Jermain Taylor. When I beat Jermain Taylor, I shut down Lou DiBella's company, so I get two knockouts in one night."

Hopkins told several reporters that while DiBella was still an HBO executive, he had extorted $50,000 from him in exchange for giving him a slot on a boxing telecast.
Did Hopkins every pay Dibella for telling that lie?

Hopkins told several reporters that while DiBella was still an HBO executive, he had extorted $50,000 from him in exchange for giving him a slot on a boxing telecast.

DiBella, with his golden reputation in doubt, sued Hopkins for libel and defamation in a nasty, highly emotionally-charged trial. During the trial, DiBella was stunned to learn during testimony from Hopkins that the gloves he had presented DiBella with were not the authentic fight-worn mitts. Hopkins had given him the backup pair.

It was just one more dagger to DiBella's heart.

In late 2003, DiBella won a $610,000 judgment -- although not the $30 million he sought -- and later had an appeal upheld, although Hopkins has yet to pay.

Loeffler seems honest. I've never heard a reporter or a fellow promoter say a bad word about him.

I laugh when somebody uses a statement from a boxing promoter to prove their point.

They are all lying scumbags, but that is what they are supposed to do

DiBella seems like the best and most honest to me. Whenever I see him interviewed he talks straight and clear, not alot of BS.
Same here. He was the first to come to mind. He seems like a good guy to have a pint with.

so does lou dibella. he's a little more gruff than burchfield but he's as honest as you'll find a major promotor.

i think the short story is that we're better than the rest of you up here. sorry, but i'm really not sorry.
