Comments Thread For: Parker, Trainer Question Why Joshua Tires When He Trains Hard

Joseph Parker sees all the videos and photos of a perfectly sculpted Anthony Joshua training extremely hard. Parker's physique isn't nearly as photogenic, but the unbeaten WBO heavyweight champion thinks his rigorous training regimen is more effective because he has been able to go 12 rounds. Joshua, on the other hand, has tired later in fights, according to Parker.

That's a good observation. All this modern, high-tech training...yet he was huffing and puffing late against Carlos Takam.

Too much size is my guess. Those showy muscles require a lot of oxygen.

In my land they say "the dog barks - the caravan keeps moving". That's all about Parker's team, no matter what they say, the day will come and Parker will go to sleep.

It looks like he did get leaner and cut some muscle in the latest pictures they posted on boxing scene.

As an Olympian he was 225lbs and then he gains 25lbs of solid muscle in his mid 20's. You can't just do something like that and not have your stamina suffer. Tyson Fury boxes at 250lbs comfortably but he's a guy who's lost weight over the years and cuts down from 300lbs.

Parker and his demented trainer are going to wonder how Parker will continue in a profession that requires your head to be attached to your neck after AJ squashes this irritating bug. Instead of a Maori, he sounds like Minnie Mouse. STFU you sound like Wilder.

Muscle requires oxygen, but it does look like AJ is trying to slim down.

Parker and his trainer might have a point, but it won't matter. Parker will be knocked out by the 10th round. The heavyweight division is really thin these days. Pardon the pun. The best young Western athletes don't become boxers. They prefer football, soccer, basketball, or some other sport. And third world countries don't develop world-class heavyweights.
