Comments Thread For: Hunter Cautions That Lo Greco is a Live Opponent For Amir Khan

Virgil Hunter, head trainer for former world champion Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs), does not view his boxer's upcoming opponent, Phil Lo Greco (28-3, 15 KOs), as a walkover. Khan and Lo Greco will collide on April 21 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Just like all trainers do-talk up their next opponent but it wouldn't suprise me if Lo Greco tags khan.

Anything harder than a marshmallow hitting Amir Khan’s chin should be considered a live opponent.

Hunter sounds like he didn't even see those fights.

I see this being like that fight Khan had with Chris Algeri. Basic fighter no power no special effects. Khan better be careful though even pillow fisted Algeri had Khan's legs wobbly a few times in that. That being said Khan is all speed no power at 147. And from what I can remember Greco can take a pretty good beating. Khan literally has beat nobody worth a damn at 147.

Khan really needs to learn to slow down and ride shots. I am a fan but he keeps punching and gets tired. Being tired makes things so much easier to get dropped.

Anybody with two fists and a KO% superior to a Paulie Malignaggi is a live opponent for Khan.

Seriously - Khan has gotten so predictable it's not even funny.

He simply does not know how to transition between offense/defense.

He is so easy to time. If you can withstand his ambush attacks with a simple high-guard for a few rounds while u learn his rhythm, and get used to his blazing fast speed, you can time him.

Even if you're slow as molasses you can still swing with him, and there's a damn good chance you'll find that sweet spot - which on Khan is anywhere above the chest and below the hairline...

Khan is the epitome of a fighter who is fast as PHOOK, but with absolutely NO SLICKNESS.

Most fighters with speed like Khan, have at least some degree of slickness.

He's got fast feet, and amazingly fast hands. He's got once-a-generation type speed he was blessed with!

But he literally has a boxing IQ of ZERO! No ability to "read and react" whatsoever. No ability to catch shots, counter-punch, transition between his offense and defense.

He is either ambushing you with combinations, or he is on the retreat, moving backwards with a high-guard.

L.G. is not a welterweight he's been fighting three weights up 163! Any excuse to keep his glass jaw protected will do.
I like many had never heard of him before this match was made and it shows how little confidence Khan and the people around him have.....pathetic.
