Woke up turned on the radio and heard some presenter guys saying something about the new heavyweight champion of the world. I thought it was some sort of joke.

Tyson was a 25-1 favorite when he fought Holyfield the first time. People feared for Evander's life. Without any shred of doubt Tyson was considered the "best" Heavyweight by a long margin in 95-96' when he got out of prison.
so because he was the betting favorite he was the best heavyweight. lol. after tyson was pulverized by douglass his promoter wanted to match him against the 41 year old george foreman and tyson said hell no. old foreman would've put tyson in a body bag. the hype around his release from prison was huge but tyson never ever regained the spot he enjoyed before 1990. and holyfield not just beat him, he thoroughly washed him. proving who was superior between the two. crawford will most likely be betting favorite against horn but that dont mean hes the best welterweight.

YES, Einstein. Because he was the betting favorite he was the best Heavyweight. That's right. 1+1 = 2. The sky is blue. Water is wet.

Nice try Mike, the ref gave you equal treatment : the difference is you were completely out ; trying to hold the ref to balance yourself, in contrast Douglas was aware of what happened by the count of six and was on his feet standing straight up with all his faculties by nine.

lol so crawford is the best welterweight then.
trinindad was betting favorite vs hopkins after just one fight at 160. i guess he was better than the guy making the 14th defense of his title. betting odds mean sht. if tyson would've listened to don king and faced 41 year old foreman he would've been a huge favorite but end up in a bodybag in the ring.

Absolute rubbish. Many viewed Lewis as better. You know the guy Tyson ducked. Lewis had to take him to court and Tyson paid him off to fight Seldon.

You're actually giving a little thesis here on your revisionist view of reality. Hilarious. Tyson was considered the "best" Heavyweight at the time, moron. Drink up. :bukkake:

Foreman would have stopped Tyson. By the Bruno fight, his head movement was gone. Add the fact that Tyson is a come-forward fighter, and it wouldn't have ended well.

You're telling me that the majority of people including experts would have picked Lewis over Tyson in 95-96'??? GTFOH!
