The overrated Lummox Lewis needs to stfu. Tyson was an overrated hype job. I was there for the Tyson and Mitch Blood Green training camps and the fight at Madison Square Garden. Tyson struggled to a decision. I said to myself after the fight that Tyson was not what they were hyping. I saw it again in the Quick Tillis fight. Tills was able to grab and hold Tyson at will. Tyson had no answers. As for Lummox Lewis, I remember Oliver McCall knocking him out cold in their first fight, then during the rematch McCall had a nervous breakdown during the fight and Lummox was overly apprehensive. What a joke. A prime Larry Holmes KOs them all. The Larry Holmes knocked out by Tyson was a mere shell of his former self.

And LL sure wasn't looking for Tyson from 89 to 91.
Pure, plain, and simple, their primes were skewed time wise, and Tysons prison stint Fked up the super fight.
To blame either fighter is fanboy talk.Comment

This is why deontayduckus wilderquackus earned his name....When Klitschko was around you wouldn't hear a quack from deontayduckus.....wilderquackus is so jealous of AJ that it is comical.Comment

Yeah, when Tyson was rebuilding after his prison stint, and 7 plus years past his prime. I seriously doubt Tyson would have avoided LL before prison, so your point really doesn't mean shyt.

1, tyson started 4 years earlier than lenny
2, theyre practically the same age
3, tysons 1st 30 opponents were as shabby as it got
4, lenny stepped up his comp level after 20 fights
5, lenny had the much more difficult path than tyson. thats not even debatable.
6, jail was a good thing for tyson. he came out fresh and faced whichever bum was available. picked up right where he left off
7, by the time they fought, BOTH were past it. more so lenny.Comment

The fight wasn't possible until he came out of jail. Tyson chose to duck the fight and pay Lewis millions.Comment

Aaaaah, the GREAT young Tyson did his thing! ALL up & coming GREAT heavies like Wilder compare themselves going up against the likes of the youngest champ in heavyweight history! Even Joshua compares & acknowledges Mikes strengths against his......Ooooh! whatta champ Mike was when he dedicated himself! After jail he lost that animal instinct and was never quite the same. Thats when everyone (including Lennox & headbuttin' Holyfield) got paid lovely off of his GREAT name......Lennox wants Deontay to leave GREATNESS alone.....can't fault him for that!!Comment

Tyson had to essentially give up the sport and training for about 3 years, and live off of shyt prison food. I don't in anyway see how that helped him, other then fewer shots to the head during that time. Tyson always had a head like cement though, so I don't think it made a difference.
And as for who was further past their prime, comparing Tyson from 2002 to the Tyson from 86 to 91, is like comparing a car rolling off of the showroom floor versus something with 170000 miles.
LL was nowhere near that degraded.Comment

We now have a REAL LIFE situation in which Anthony Joshua can take on the likes of heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder! Joshua chooses to TALK instead of show & prove against the man thats been calling him out for years.......I guess his worshipping drunk fans filling up soccer stadiums to see his muscles & him fight against fodder is enough to satisfy........oh well.....Comment
