Our heavyweights are so out of shape.

A lot of them are FAT.

    Povetkin, you are FAT.
    Stiverne, you are FAT.
    Tyson Fury, you are FAT.
    Luis Ortiz, you are FAT.

Dorticos (CW) is a bit skinny fat.

Can't they even train properly? full time workers and students have better physiques, WTF is wrong.

It really irks me too, here I am paying good money to see them fight and I can't even get an erection when looking at them, it's just pathetic really. Seriously considering boycotting watching the fat guys fight because they just do nothing for me downstairs, bunch of useless f4ggots they are

Heavyweight boxing isn't a Hollywood physique contest. No more than sumo wrestling is, a shot put competition is, a power lifting competition is or strongman competitions are.

Heavyweight boxing is about performance, just like in those other sports. And the heavyweight division, unlike any other weight division in boxing is an unlimited weight division. Thus, having a bit of fat / chubbiness isn't necessarily a negative but can indeed be a positive.

Most of the time, it's the more muscular looking boxers who usually have poor physical conditioning and stamina. On the other hand, it's the fatter / chubbier looking boxers who usually look to have better stamina and conditioning since they don't gas out as much.

Having a bit of fat / chubbiness can often help absorb punches in the heavyweight division.

There's no rule against fat / chubbiness. There isn't also much evidence that fat / chubby boxers are necessarily inferior heavyweight boxers in the first place.

This Hollywood expectation for a heavyweight boxer's physical appearance is an utter FANTASY that isn't based on anything RELEVANT!

Two of those heavyweights in Alexander Povetkin and Luis Ortiz are post age 35 (an age when most heavyweights are either retired or losing to journeymen / bums) and the other is having a lay off.

Point being that at one point, all of them were champions and physical appearance had nothing to do with how much success they had. Performance and conditioning did!

Luis Ortiz ain't fat, he just stocky.

He weighed 237 on his pro debut, and he weigh the same today.

The man built like a young Samuel Peter. He top 3 in the division.

There is a shocking number of overweight heavyweight boxers over the last decade or more. Guess it's just a reflection of out society as a whole.

It is truly embarrassing and shameful that a professional athlete cannot at least get to a healthy weight. In this era Butterbean wouldn't be a 4 round circus freak he'd be a prospect lol.

One of the reasons why Wlad was so dominant was because he was so consistently in great shape. Guys like Solis, Arreola, Ruiz Jr, Mike Perez, Stiverne, Chisora, Fury etc all have all too often come in at a horrible weight, sometimes even clinically obese.

There's only ever been 1 fat heavyweight champion and that was George Foreman a man with freakish power and who was always a boxing prodigy. These guys are no George Foreman.

You took the best Ortiz photo available. You know he is fat.

I wouldn't say he's fat. He's soft, no doubt and could be leaner but he's not horrendously out of shape like some fighters.
