Wilder would KO him around rounds 8-12..

he can be cautious with that jab all he wants, but the second he see's an opening for that right hand, it won't matter the round IMO

True but facing a Southpaw presents with a risk of being countered & Ortiz is a big puncher himself.. Wilder's previous opponents didn't have the same tenacity as Ortiz but one thing in his favor is Ortiz is slow and can't cut the ring off..
I won't take much from the Stiverne fight because he didn't throw a punch and stood there like a big fat punching bag so Wilder made easy work of him.. See his fights with Washington, Spzilka where the opponents were jabbing him and out working him at times.. only thing they lacked was power and Wilder knew that..

Off the top of my head, was Spzilka the only southpaw he's faced? I know he looked confused for a lot of that match, but if memory serves me correctly, Spzilka was a late replacement so Wilder hadn't trained to fight a southpaw or sparred with one. He's been training for Ortiz, so I would have to think he will be prepared.

I agree, but reckon Ortiz will go in about 6-7 rounds. Ortiz isn't gonna have the legs to chase Wilder down, so reckon Wilder can more or less do as he pleases as long as he doesn't walk onto something ******.

If he is careful about the uppercuts that Ortiz throws then he can get him out sooner.. Wilder has a bad tendency of fighting down to his opponents height(Spzilka is a prime example).. he has to make full use of his height like Wlad and Aj do.. He would be punching down and makes his punches more powerful..

What would be comical is Wilder getting knocked the f out with an Ortiz counter in the first 2 or 3 rounds. lol.
