Mandatories get 25-30% depending on the sanctioning organization. There's no way Parker, for an undefeated vs undefeated unification accepted less than 30%.

Hearn offered 30% many times and Parker always said no. Why would he then accept 28%? Doesn't make any sense.
25-30% when fights go to Purse bid.

You are on a thread that was created based on an article... that's the article I'm talking about.

Correct, but knowing AJ has to pay his mandatories that, Parker's team understandably didn't want to take less than 35%, although it seems they ended up taking around 33%.

Thank you for pointing that out. I just read the article. It's definitely wrong. There's no way Parker took 28%. Higgins has already stated publicly Parker got between 30-35, close to in the middle.

Higgins has an interest in saying his fighter got a bigger piece of the purse. Maybe it was actually 28%.

I would bet my life that it's not 28%.

If and when the split is finally officially revealed, I guarantee you it'll be approximately halfway between 30-35, just as Higgins said.

Hearn repeatedly offered 30%. Yet you believe Higgins then somehow negotiated Hearn down to 28%? Doesn't make any sense.

Maybe the 28% is just the guaranteed minimun purse.

Or maybe a random clickbait British tabloid article isn't the most trustworthy source for private financial information?

It's possible he made more than that, but 30 million like that other poster said? Not happening.
The £10 mill figure reported was his guaranteed minimum not his final payday, so depending upon the PPV he could of made more.

Some reports are saying Joshua/Takam did about 600K which seems believable considering who he was facing. So that's about £12 mill from the PPV, add about £7 mill from the live gate if we use the Joshua/Klitschko figures if we scale down. Then you are looking a few mill from overseas rights and sponsorship, you're probably looking at about a total revenue of about £22 mill or $30 mill.

So yeah I can't see that $30 mill figure for AJ being realistic at all. He probably made about $18-20 mill for Takam.

Of which, half goes to the cable/satellite systems.

Leaving you 6, of which AJ & Matchroom take out expenses, and then split 80/20 in AJ's favor. So AJ would be lucky to end up with 4 of that original 12.

                    • Nice payday for Parker. Everything points towards this being a great fight, even if Joshua is the clear favourite. I don't see Parker going down easy, if at all.
