Main difference is that Alvarez has shown the ability to learn and adapt.

Doesn't look good for his chances in a rematch.
Just so that we're clear, how did you have the first fight scored?

Pretty sure I had it 7-5 Alvarez or 6-6 even. Alvarez was landing the cleaner/effective shots, but his gas tank left maybe 2 rounds on the table that he could've picked up.

With Golovkin not the destroyer that they hyped him to be, Alvarez can make the rematch a far more decisive fight keeping to his game plan, and working on his stamina a bit (Golovkin's not going to learn how to fight off of someone's chest in 10 weeks)

Eh, ref warned GGG twice in the Canelo fight for body shots that hit Canelo in the back, because of his waist movement.
GGG didn't want to lose a point and probably decided to only throw body shots when Canelo is standing still on the ropes.

The only way I see Canelo KO GGG is if GGG tries to throw a body shot while Canelo is moving because Canelo can easily counter him. GGG most likely will throw body shots (in combos) when he has Canelo on the ropes in the rematch.

Umm fighting off his chest isn't necessary. It would work against him by smothering his punches. He likes to punch from mid range. He may not have to change much. Go to the body more and work on his accuracy. Hopefully Canelo will improve. I'm a fan of Golovkin but I like competitive fights also.

Dude Canelo is in his mid 20's. He better be improving. Go back and look at Golovkin's fights before Sanchez. He had a different style. He's changed up also. One thing I don't like coming from Sanchez is he believes that his fighters shouldn't adapt to the opponent but they force the opponent to adapt to them. To me that seems foolish or I'm misinterpreting what he means.

has he? What do you base this on? From my perception, he's always looked good against certain kinds of fighters from baldomir, to cintron, to angulo to Smith. But against the higher level opponents, he still seems to have struggles getting a convincing win and seems to tire down the stretch.

Golovkin before Abel Sanchez, from what I've been able to see, was a pretty interesting fighter; boxer/puncher, who could fight long/mid (still didn't see much in fighting), mix in his punches to the head/body, while also having a bit of fluidity to him. He wasn't Pirog or anything, but there were enough flashes that you saw what could be a really good fighter.

Sanchez saw that, made his assessment, and then chose to strip Golovkin of any and all of the boxing craft that he'd been developing, to try to max out on 2-3 skills in the name of being an exciting fighter.

The stamina is definitely the issue (the way his body is put together, managing his every may be an issue for the rest of his career).

From basically Josesito Lopez on, you start to really see the ring craft show. Good combinations and playing the defensive game are fun to see, but he's gotten really good at punching inside of his opponents combinations, fighting off the counter, baiting punches, and using his feet/faints to put his opponents into the position that he wants to put them.

Fights against a guy like Lara will always be difficult because Lara's seen so much boxing craft in his career (and how to react to it) that Alvarez basically runs out of looks to give him, leaving him to simply grind through the end of fights.

Billy Joe Saunders would be the type of opponent that'd give Alvarez a world of problems; depending on how good you see the English Traveller boxing scene being. Daniel Jacobs, Andrade, and Jermall Charlo would also be tough fights, but there interests in making things a fight gives Alvarez all the opening he needs.

Still, put in the 175-195lb James Toney tapes, crib a bunch of extra traps to use in his own game, and watch Alvarez continue to get better
