Difference is, striking with fists is and always had been perfectly legal. You can't ban striking in the strike game. None of Floyd's arsenal is illegal.

On that note, Floyd has brittle hands and MMA gloves have much less padding than boxing gloves. This could prove to be a problem for him more so than a benefit.

Ironically, broken hands seem to happen much less in MMA than boxing for whatever reason.
