Everytime this fight is mentioned all I can think about is GGG head hunting the entire fight when Nelo was gassing, laying on ropes.

No way Nelo would have made it to 12, if G put that work to body in.
Abel Sanchez should be fired If they repeat same head hunting and No bodywork

You are more exposed when you throw body punches, especially against a fast, sharp inside counterpuncher like Canelito.

GGG was smart keeping scoring with his jab ala Klitschko since that sht was working IMO

GGG was too slow if you ask me, he could be quicker on working a bit on his feet-hands coordination.

He needs to land more body punches but he will have to set them up otherwise he's getting countered.

GGG is the longer guy, so it could be dumb to look too much for a close range/inside body punching fight.

Think the old slow dinosaur was scared of being countered, that's why he didn't work the body.

He has to throw everything he's got this time though, a loss now would tarnish his 'legacy'. There's only so much mileage you can get out of beating David Lemieux ("WOW, you mean GGG beat THE David Lemieux? Tell us more daddy" - children, circa 2050)

Nelo outlanded him in punches & gassed out cuz he couldn't knock him out. golovkin is too slow, no defense, no combinations & cannot adapt to a fight, he fights one way only & that forward with no shield. If he fights someone that can punch he will get K.O.'d but Nelo is too small for him & golovkin is too strong for Nelo to K.O. but Nelo will win again. The one that got robbed in the 1st fight was Nelo.

What? No defense? GGG and Canelo were having some EXTREMELY high level exchanges with both showing good defense. Canelo had the better defense but GGG was great too. Canelo seems a little more skilled but just because GGG was going forward doesnt mean he wasnt being defensively responsible. His reads/decision making, parries, balance, and way he rolls with some of the punches is honestly really impressive. He comes forward and for a guy to be that responsible while doing such is incredible.

Canelo is an agressive counter puncher (he’s agressive on the counter similar to JMM in that sense) and is himself an incredible fighter. Both guys were going to get hit, they have prolific offenses at the highest level. Cant fault GGG for getting tagged. His style makes him slightly vulnerable to compact uppers and Canelo has arguable the best one at 160. That’s why he couldnt throw to the body. Canelo has shown an incredible ability to block and shut down body work for the most part.

Hell, a much lesser fighter (admittedly) but even Beefy talked about how Canelo kept catching the body shots.

GGG has a very good defense and good eyes. Dont know why people think it’s trash. This canelo fight showed me it was better than i thought tbh

if he throws more to the body he eats more uppercuts. its that simple. canelo can light you up like a christmas tree if u go to his body exposing your face. ggg was smart not to go there.

Before the fight GGG was labeled "the best body puncher in boxing" trained by a man who preaches body work to all his fighters. His trainer confirmed after the fight the game plan was to go the body all night and was caught in between rounds pleading to GGG to go to the body.

GGG didn't just plan to abandon one of if not his biggest weapon. He had it TAKEN away. Canelo's defense had him missing all night long. And Canelo's a dangerous counterpuncher had him shook to throw anything to the body. You throw more body punches you leave yourself more vulnerable to get hit especially with something you don't see coming. There is a risk associated with it and the risk is getting lit up. GGG didn't want to take that risk it's that simple.

the old scared of counters argument.

GGG was not scared of any of Canelo's counters. that's why he walked forward all night. Even after Canelo landed that flush right hand that slept many.

He didn't throw to the body because of an agreement. there's no other logical reason behind it.

he will throw to the body this time. the complexion of the fight will change.

Golovkin clearly got robbed by the judges. Hopefully it won't happen again. Canelo has better hand speed but G is the better boxer so he can beat Canelo again on points. However he has to use more body shots in the rematch because Canelo will increase his agression slightly and give G openings. This time I think G will KO him.

I hate to think that both or one guy was sandbagging but all the talk about a trilogy before a punch was landed is a very bad look.
