Why are y'all acting as if Pacquiao-Matthysse is a good fight?

Because of his name. The only pound for pound fighter he beat was Bradley and he had his number. He won the first fight 10-2 and lost more rounds in the fights he actually got the decision against. Rios, Vargas, Algieri aren't that special.

They aren't special but Algeri was a reigning world champion a weight class below, Vargas was a top 10 WW and I think a reigning world champion, Tim Bradley was a P4P fighter and Top WW and he beat him twice the third time dropping him multiple times.

Sounds like someone competing and winning at the top level to me. To say he was "done at the top level" is literally factually incorrect.

          Exactly.

The man has been a pro fighter for 23 years non stop (no fake retirements) and was left for dead in the ring in 2012.

The people that are expecting him to fight the best in sport are selfish, that or they just want to see him get KTFO again.

The only 8 division champ this sport has ever seen doesn't owe anyone a damn thing.

Now why did you have to bring up Mayweather?

Algieri got a gift against Provodnikov and Bradley was dropped in the 3rd fight not the second where he did better than the other fights. The third was a nothing fight and Bradley was out the mythical pound for pound lists by then.

There was a definite drop in Pacquaio's level from 2011-2012 when he got schooled by Marquez then KO'd brutally to 2013-2014. Hopkins was a better fighter in 1998 than he was in 2008 but he higher on mythical pound for pound lists in 2008. Pacquaio was higher in 2015 than he was in 2003-2005 but clearly wasn't as good a fighter.

Algeri did not get a gift at all.

Bradley was in the P4P list for the third fight and I said it was the third fight he got dropped in.

Drop in level maybe but he clearly was not "finished at the top level" because he was beating top level fighters for years after so it's pure nonsense to suggest.
