Any details on the matching rights situation + HBO's offer? How long is this matching rights deal for? I figured it was over after the Takam fight.

I was really expecting HBO to swipe Joshua this time. Nice moves by Showtime keeping him around. Joshua staying at Showtime long term would be huge for them.

I'm truly shocked that showtime ( Deontays Network ) is willing to air another mismatchroom/Sky/Joshua fight considering the horrible numbers hes been averaging despite beating Klitsckho in the FOTY

: Joshua-Martin averages 275K, Joshua-Takam 300K+ ; now you compare that to Deontay vs. Bermane Stiverne II that did 800K -- a fight nobody wanted to see...well you got to agree that Joshua is a nobody here in America and really is costing Showtime money, but Deontay is keeping this company afloat delivering close to a million viewers each time THE REAL HW champion of the world fights.

dem is tha facts. Erislandy Lara pulls in more viewers on Spike TV with Yuri Foreman!

Now the expected figures from this fight will be unfavorable for team mismatchroom in negotiations for a showdown with Deontay I'm sure -- it took a Klitschko for Anthony to get the kinds of numbers that Wilder pulls with Bermane Stiverne ; how can A.J deny Deontay 50 percent of the purse if he cant do better numbers in a unification with the help of Joe Parker? lets just wait and see.

Obviously it goes without saying that AJ fights 5 hours earlier compared to prime time for Wilder. It'd be interesting if there were any studies/comparisons that show how that time difference affects viewership.

Parker demanded 50% too. Do you not know how negotiating works?

This is the last fight in the Joshua Showtime deal.
No more matching rights for Showtime.
