One of the biggest things boxing has going for it is the history and tradition. I think it would be a mistake to change the weight limit of any of the divisions other than maybe cruiserweight (which has little history or tradition to begin with). But the welterweight champion of the world in 2018 should weigh the same as the welterweight champion of the world from 1968.
There's no such thing as a regular title. What needs to be eliminated is the WBA's super titles. As for eliminating interim titles, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to that. But when the champion is legitimately hurt, do you really want a legendary title reign ended because you named the champion "champion in recess" instead of crowning an interim champion?
What needs to be ended is the abuses of creating interim titles, which honestly in recent years has been curtailed quite a bit. Interim titles aren't the massive problem they were five years ago.
Okay now you're living in a dream world. The big stars fighting twice a year has been the standard for decades at this point. Even if they wanted to fight three times a year, there aren't enough TV dates.
