Comments Thread For: Gassiev's Promoter Confident: Usyk is Getting Knocked Out!

On Saturday night at the Bolshov Ice Dome in Adler, Russia - the punches were flying hard in the second semi-final fight of World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) cruiserweight tournament. In a battle of undefeated world champions, Murat Gassiev (26-0, 19 KOs) pulled out a spectacular twelfth round knockout of Yunier Dorticos (21-1, 20 KOs) to unify the WBA, IBF world titles.

Usyk is more versatile than a number of Cruiserweights so I'd favor him a little in the match. The foot speed difference stands out to me.

Usyk can't stop Gassiev. We all know that. He can only win a decision but after seeing him struggle in spots against Breidis I slightly favor Gassiev to box cleverly to a split decision. This will be a boring fight though.

2 questions; Does Usik have enough firepower to keep Gassiev honest? Can Usik move for 12 rounds without gassing out at the end? If you 've answered no to both, then it's Gassiev by KO. If it was yes, then its Usik by UD.

LOL !!! Usyk will school slow Gassiev. Thats why Russians are trying anything possible to bring the final to Russia on July 22nd. They are pressuring the WBSS to cancel the fight in Saudi Arabia and relocate it to Russia in order to buy Gassiev´s win on points http://tass.ru/sport/4928320

Gassiev is tailormade for Usyk. This will be an easier fight than against Briedis. Plus Usyk fought better opposition in his career than Gassiev. Usyk fought them in the opponent´s backyard each time.

According to bookmakers Usyk is a 70/30 favourite and I agree with them. You will see the best Usyk since the Glowacki fight. Just wait a bit.

For as great as Usyk's movement is, he seems to get hit flush a bit in every fight and if that happens against Gassiev it's goodnight. Before yesterdays fight I thought if Gassiev made it to the finals it would be a pretty easy decision win for Usyk, but now I'm thinking it's going to be hard for Usyk to avoid those power shots for all 12 rounds. Gassiev's handspeed was much better in the last fight than I remembered it, I think Gassiev probably drops some bombs at some point and gets Usyk out of there

Not in the Glowacki fight ! Since he changed the trainer from Bashir to Vatamanyuk he gets hit more because Vatamanyuk prefers the more aggressive style. In the Gassiev bout you will see the same Usyk as in the Glowacki fight. Easy win for Usyk on points.

I don't want to hear from you and other guys after the fight that Gassiev was just a one dimensional Hypejob when Usyk wins a shutout decision.
