    Typical of this board.

Put folks in a position where, in order to counter absolute idiocy, you wind up detracting from a good win and a very classy and deserving fighter.

Gassiev looked good against Dorticos, no question.

But Dorticos- the best guy Gassiev has fought- is a limited fighter that Gassiev still took 12 rounds to get rid of.

Let's wait til we see a little more of Gassiev before we declare him able to beat an all time great who made most of his fights against much superior opposition look easy.

I like the kid because he brings power and looks to finish! At 24 years old and 6'3" with a fairly narrow build he seems to make 200lbs easily. BUT!

At 26 years old he will be at his maturity as a fighter and he needs to by pass the cruiser weight BS and go were the big boys play.
He would need to move his head and rotate his body and learn to step up using angles. This kid has power but is very raw, no amateur experience.
As for Ward as an opponent Andre at 6' (5'11") would make this kid reset his feet constantly and make him move left which he doesn't do very well. It would be interesting because the left hooks are in play for both.

If I handled this kid I would get him into the USA were he could learn more techniques regarding upper body movement and how to counter punch off counter moves.
He has a lot to learn and the money is at heavyweight not
      cruiser weight.
He has 2 years to get ready for the big boys.
Power just isn't seen much anymore.

      Ray

Why are so many users on this board stuck on a man that retired p4p Number 1. Your fantasy booking won't change that he is undefeated.

Gassiev's defence is borderline GREATEST OF ALL TIME?

If you can get anyone on this forum to support that statement I'd be genuinely gobsmacked.

Neither would I. To be honest I thought he'd retired to keep an eye on the CW division, while bulking up and acclimating to the weight. I think he'd surprise a lot of people moving up to CW, he has the ability and most importantly craftiness and IQ to beat a lot of those guys

Gassiev is a good fighter and he hits hard. Ward uses rough house tactics to his advantage, but he wouldn't be using them in this one. He'd be fighting a guy who's used to fighting 25 pounds heavier and will likely soon be a HW. They would be a telling size difference on fight night.

There's CW's I'd take Ward over, but not the likes of Usyk and Gassiev.
