More about building Wilder's profile, which he is doing. In the ideal situation this fight does US PPV as that would bring the most money and it's Hearn's goal to do that for Joshua, but for him to do that he needs a US fighter that has big enough profile.

Wilder since calling out Joshua, has more than doubled his number of social media followers, has now got his GF and himself on a reality TV show ad hopefully when the numbers come in for the Ortiz fight, show that there is growing interest in Wilder and eventually a fight with Joshua.

It may work, it may not, but the smart thing is to at least try and make this fight as big as it could be.

Maybe wilder don't think he's gonna beat Ortiz and has blown josh fight.
I would love Wilder to be flapping his illiterate gums so much he overlooks Ortiz, much like Dorticos overlooked Gassiev. It would be GLORIOUS!! Then Wilder can go clean floors in the gymnasium he can't fill with his circus side show boxing matches against midgets. He'll go on the birthday circuit tossing midgets at little kids birthday parties wearing his clown suit. lol! Wilder, what a big baby.

How many other fighters are putting 12k in the Barklays?

Growing interest in Wilder as a fighter or side show? He's embarrassing.

Wilder has the personality and he’s a great talker. Most importantly he has all the highlight KO’s that play well on television commercials. If they can’t sell AJ vs Wilder then they need to get out of the promotion business. I thought Hearn was the best promoter in boxing.

Errol Spence Jr did 12K against Peterson at the Barclays centre. So it's not exactly an amazing number.

Frampton Santa Cruz, GGG vs anybody, Thurman Porter, Cotto Ali I could go on and on. And none of them BEGGED to get a fight with a rightful champ without paying their dues. Wilder is an embarrassment to real fans of boxing. He is a king to people who think like him. SMH. Every great past champ laughs at his girlish whining. Turned down Whyte for $3M. If he is such a badass he needs to STFU and go to work. Ortiz may beat the **** out of him and then what? Racism? He doesn't get the hard core fans support because he is not a workhorse, warrior, skillful pugilistic surgeon or even a KO artist against MEDIUM competition. He blames racism for not having a fan base but EVERYBODY loved Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Shavers, Tyson, Holyfield. Holmes wasn't a favorite but he was one of the best ever and it wasn't skin color it was Holmes boring ass demeanor. Nope, Wilder is a b*tch. He needs to work for it.

Lol but Hearn isn't Wilder's promoter, not Hearn's fault Wilder has been fighting soft touches and has been over protected.

Numbers don't lie. Wilder's best purse $1.5 mill, biggest attendance 12K at Barclays, while Joshua is making $15-20 mill per fight to 78-90K in stadiums.

Shhh, Hearn is trying to convince America they have a decent heavyweight that can beat Joshua or at least not get flattened by the first decent punch he throws like the last time he fought an American champion.
