Yeah, he has limited amateur experience, but he was the best boxer today against a cuban, so that doesn't mean much. Being square didn't seem to be a problem today against a 1-2 puncher, the best type to explore it, so southpaw, the worse to explore it (look at young Pacquiao, squared but hard to hit in the body) isn't doing any better. About head movement, didn't you see the 1st KD? He don't move the head a lot because he has a hell of a high guard (the best defense against southpaws), but when he moves he throw an accurate counter right away. And last, Dorticos punch keep him out of danger early on, Usyk don't have this kind of power, so no breathing space in any moment

His square was a problem you just said it youself with talkin about problems/danger early.But we can agree to disagree.We will find out soon so need to debate much.

Because his right is always set up by the jab and it's known that the orthodox jab is the punch that suffers the most in this type of fight. Sure, you can outjab a southpaw, but only if you have the better lead hook too, what isn't the case. If you don't have it your jabs will be only a way for the other guy to point out. The way it is, the guy with better chances to outjab Usyk is Gassiev

Giving Dorticos 4 rounds is crazy to me. He came forward the first 4 rounds but almost all his punches were blocked by Gassiev except the left hook to the body and a few jabs in the 3rd and 4th round. But Gassiev was landing hooks to both sides of Dorticos body, as well as the right hook to the head. He was outlanding him almost every round. Maybe you can give Dorticos the 3rd round, one of the 1st/4th if you're generous, but I wouldn't give Dorticos more than 2 rounds in the fight, 3 at best. 4 is pushing it.

Seen it different seems like a lot others did also.Thought that was about best job of judging from all 3(4) ive seen in loooooooooong time.

Dorticos was on a steady and strict diet where he ate left upper cuts & left hooks.. He couldn't get enough of them, until he had enough of them left upper/hook sammiches

not sure I'll call it FOTY. from my standpoint gassiev thoroughly dominated. a one sided clinic is not FOTY material. giving dorticos more than three rounds is generous. the only compliment you can give him is that iron jaw but what that says is he endured serious punishment.

gassiev begun to invest in body shots right away. thats what zapped the juice out of dorticos punches later on. for most of the fight dorticos was just arm punching. and i'm not sure i've ever seen a mofo miss as much as he did. i mean either gassiev is an underrated defensive wizard or dorticos simply doesnt look where he punches. almost every right hand he threw was landing on gloves.

beautiful fight plan executed by gassiev who's just 24 yrs old. had no idea he was that young. great future.

vs usyk its tough to predict now. after a win this dominant its easy to say gassiev wins especially when usyk barely sc****d out a decision in his last fight. but i see them evenly matched and usyk will present more problems than dorticos who made zero adjustments all night.

as far as the ref its damned if you do damned if you dont.. stop it right away and dorticos team might protest. stop it too late a mofo end up brain dead. its a tight rope the refs must walk across. but it looked like the right decision by the ref because dorticos had already shown the ref he can take brutal shots and keep coming.

A+ fight for entertainment. not FOTY doe since I didn't see it as competitive. it was a thorough demolition.

Gassiev was landing the better punches every round but it didn't feel like he was dominating the fight until the championship rounds. You gotta give mad respect to Dorticos. He kept throwing till the very end, until the time he went down in the 12th. Very entertaining fight.. I like Gassiev's style.

Great fight both answered just about every question on them.
Gassiev in particular showed a lot more to his game than he'd previously displayed. Every round was competitive though I struggled to give many to Dorticos as Gassiev was catching and parrying a lot of his shots. I won't say his defense is great but its dramatically improved as has his counterpunching.

Usyk will have his hands full with Gassiev the guys a beast no other way of putting it.

I've been saying Gassiev would win it all since before the WBSS started and I'm feeling good about my chances of that prediction holding

Usyk-Gassiev is gonna be a real great fight

For a 24 year old this guy is on some run. Win or lose against Usyk he's been very fun to watch.

Usyk spars with Wlad so he's used to be hit by monster punch. I've got Usykvia UD.
