Former boxing promoter Kellie Maloney has criticised the decision by Formula One bosses to ban grid girls from next season, and urged her own sport to resist the temptation to follow suit. I think they are a distraction, a silly one at it, for real boxing fans. A distraction geared maybe towards some men who most probably aren't real boxing fans, just casuals. To me, they are annoying and distracting, but to each their own, they appear very little during fight broadcasts, so they are almost irrelevant in my case, except for people who like to see fights live and want to listen to everything related to the fight, specially the corners between rounds and not listen to men cheering loudly and cat-calling at something completely irrelevant to a boxing fight.
