Only actually ever watched him live once unfortunately and that was a draw. Seemed like a good fighter, but you can never trust a mutha****a with 2 first names

Chris John was the WBA Featherweight champion JMM fought in some far flung Indonesian jungle for a measly $31,250 way back in 2006. Unfortunately JMM was not able to wrest the title, sad story indeed.

For being Marquez's daddy and also having an XXXL WBA belt.

He made Crybaby look uncomfortable in the squared circle. Such a shame they didn't tango for the second time circa '07/ '08.

At people calling robbery. I'm sure they just hear someone say it and just repeat it without even watching the fight.

Same for the people claiming John won. There's plenty of people that have watched it and said it was a robbery. There's very few that have watched it and said it was a fair decision.

Chris "The Dragon" John was at one time regarded as being the best
Featherweight in the world. Chris John held various versions of that
WBA World Featherweight Championship from 2004-2013 he made a
total of 14 successful defenses with 3 draws defeating Osamu Sato,
Derrick "Smoke" Gainer, Daud Yordan, Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo, Rocky
Juarez and that controversial win over Juan Manuel Marquez. It was
Juan Manuel Marquez who elected to fight Chris John in Indonesia for
less money because there was a very lucrative offer to fight Pacquiao
in a rematch in 2006 after their first fight which was declared a draw
in 2004. One could make a valid point that Juarez got an undeserving
draw in his hometown of Houston when he fought Chris John in 2009.

The Pacquaio re-match was to be for 2005. By the time Marquez fought John he was no longer at Top Rank fighter and due to a ridiculous rule lost his WBA super title because Top Rank didn't bid for his IBF mandatory so was left without his titles. He didn't decline Pacquaio to fight John. He fought John because he was in no man's land and was a victim of politics.
