Comments Thread For: McGregor: Mayweather Will Earn Respect if He Enters UFC

According to UFC superstar Conor McGregor, former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather will earn a lot of respect if he actually takes part in a fight under Mixed Martial Arts rules. Last August, Mayweather snapped a two-year retirement when he fought UFC superstar Conor McGregor, who was making his boxing debut.

Floyd would get just as much respect fighting the Canelo/GGG winner, Spence Jr., or Crawford, and probably make just as much, if not more (Canelo) money!

Let's be honest themajority of casuals will never give him credit, the same people who said he was ducking mcgregor (casuals) and saying he was gonna get ko'd by mcgregor don't give him any credit for that victory

I'd agree. I also think if Floyd did enter the cage & took a L sure mfers would dog him & there'd be gifs a plenty, but I also think Floyd gets humanized in a way he's never been & it might actually do wonders for his overall mainstream Q score & popularity.

Although idk if Floyd can hang with being likeable long term cuz he does seem to not have a very grounded opinion of how much works beyond boxing. He's had a few casual things that could have went more south than he did if he was seen as a "good guy" like those recent MeToo comments with the reporter. I just don't think he grasped there was something going on that he had no clue about & I'm sure he took 3 months off Kelly Swanson's life with the stress of that bs despite it not really going THAT mainstream.

Conor should forget Floyd and concentrate on training and stop drinking whisky. Khabib is dangerous especially in Russia in September when they should fight

He already beat Canelo easily. It’ll just be more excuses

Floyd is finished at the highest level. He won't beat any of the top fighters anymore but he still wants to fight. He won't ever fight in the Octagon. His only option is Conor in another boxing match. If Floyd returns I'm 100% sure we'll see Conor vs Floyd II in boxing.

Mayweather took it easy on McGregor, he could have ended the fight sooner if he wanted to but he didn’t want it to look very easy, now if they fought under mma rules, McGregor would beat Mayweather by submission or even by knockout.
