Giving up almost five inches in height and having a wingspan just under 75-inches makes me worry about Povetkin's chances of leaving outside of a stretcher when Wilder whips those big, looping shots. Povetkin is a superior technician, but he has a lot of ring miles on those tires, pushing 40 and has an increasingly porous defense. Yeesh.
He's never been stopped in around 200 amateur + pro bouts for a reason, despite being 38 years old.Comment

Alexander Povetkin is a Siberian tiger that was raised in the forests with other tigers. He can handle a few windmills from a basketball player like Wilder lol. And Alexander the Siberian tiger has proven he can fight even whilst unconscious on instincts which is when he's at his most dangerous.

Well if he's not juicing then it's almost a foregone conclusion that he is going to get KO'd by Deontay Wilder. This is exactly what this new testing protocol was designed and set up to do and that was to screen and bust all the steroid cheats out there juicingComment

That's a fair point. All fair points. I have always been a fan of Povetkin, just don't want to see him get clobbered or seriously hurt because of the size matchup. But, then again, he took all Wlad could dish out near his prime for 12 rounds and kept coming. I should reserve judgment until way closer to the fight if it is made. The video from Povetkin's camp will let us know how much he has left in the tank, how much he can still take. Wilder is a relatively known quantity. He ain't graceful and he ain't accurate, but he punches like a damned mule.
Deontay Wilder would have to land his most powerful punch with perfect accuracy and timing to KO Povetkin and it's unlikely to happen if Povetkin still is as good as how he was in his last 2 bouts. And even if Wilder does land such a punch, Povetkin is like no other weak chinned boxer Wilder has faced previously like the suspect chinned Artur Szpilka or a Malik Scott. Povetkin's punch resistance is grade A which is only surpassed by the likes of Mariusz Wach and Vitali Klitschko. Alexander Povetkin would have to be seriously washed up and shot for Wilder to be the favorite at beating Povetkin in my opinion.
My main concern currently is Anthony Joshua. I don't think Povetkin beats Joshua because Joshua has the greater skills to go along with his size compared to Deontay Wilder. And with Alexander Povetkin slightly declined in terms of mental sharpness and reflexes from aging, Joshua will be the favorite to beat Povetkin (by decision) if they fought. The deciding factor will be Joshua's physical strength and size which Povetkin will not be able to overcome at his old age.Comment
