No one actually takes The Ring Title seriously, right? Come on.

Ring magazine is owned by HBO's lead promoter Golden Boy Promotions. Since buying the magazine, they have interfered with the ratings and changed all of the rules, causing all the prominent members of the Ring ratings advisory board to quit in disgust and start the TBRB as a replacement.

The rules of the lineal title are very simple. You must lose the title in the ring unless you leave the weight class or retire. The vacancy can only be filled by #1 fighting #2.

Ring however made up a bunch of arbitrary rules that are selectively enforced to benefit HBO whenever possible and harm Showtime whenever possible. #4 can fight #5 to fill a vacancy. A Showtime fighter can be stripped when he's ducked by the top 5, but an HBO fighter can keep their title if they fight #5 from two weight classes below.

The magazine belt was kept on Fury as long as it was because HBO didn't want AJ vs. Wilder to be for the magazine belt, which is what could have happened if they stripped Fury.

So all of Ring magazine's rules were violated in order to keep the title on Fury as long as possible.

But now HBO believes they can make a serious run at Matchroom's stable, including AJ, so they want AJ vs. Parker to be for the Ring title.

Every step of the way, Ring has been inconsistent, violating their own rules, rules that don't even make sense in the first place. The magazine belt is a joke now and it's been a joke ever since it was purchased by HBO's lead promoter.

No proof he was on roids either, just that he failed a urine test. Fury is back, and the division is on notice.
