    is boxing turning into wwe?

with the roided up rock announcing the ggg canelo 2nd fight? everything is done for a reason and this was a calculated move by HBO

boxing has zero credibility as it is with obvious fixed judges and refs plus promoters like de la goya dressing up like women wanting to be a transsexual

Do not take the sins of Oscar De La Hoya and tar the whole sport with it; Showtime just delivered a great presentation of most of their schedule for the first 6 months of the year, without any nonsense happening.

HBO isn't going to put up the money to showcase the fight, Oscar has a fight that folks weren't really starving to see, and Oscar needed a way to try and draw some attention to the event.

Ballers is apparently the 2nd highest rated show on HBO, The Rock is a superstar, so they likely figured that having The Rock announce the fight would lead to a good amount of free media, which I doubt it did.

Let's see what they try for the press tour or if they do 24/7, but peep game.

I think you are making too much of this. Rock is HUGE & having him announce your fight is gonna buy you some revenue right there alone. Its purely a marketing move & not a bad one at all.

As always boxing fans always are living in the blackest of black or the whitest of white opinions. Some of you act like there is no middle ground with anything at all lol. It can be hilarious at times.

The reality is Refs do GOOD to GREAT 99% of the time. And the reality is Judges give the right guy the decision 99% of the time. I do understand & see issues with "that one judge" scoring some other fight entirely on wayyyyyyyy too many fights on any specific card. Thats an issue that needs to get worked out sooner or later. But in no way do officials have zero credibility.

All that bs said the reality is boxing IS a circus. And thats one of the things some cats love & some cats hate. If boxing ever does become like most professional sports with top guys competing all year long or during specific times of year in a mainstream tournament or something its not doing now with its fly by night into your town & take your money approach some fans will f#cking hate it cuz that circus aspect of the sport will be gone.

Or I mighta saved some time by just saying C+ trolling, but I like to talk too.

Boxing has been a circus for quite awhile.

not to mention the fact that most of the old boxing promoters also promoted wrestling and vice versa.

hell, the WBA, back when it was the NBA was also sanctioning the pro wrestling world championships under the NWA moniker.
