Neither guy would get the proper credit for beating the other, unfortunately. If Floyd won, people would say Golovkin was overrated and was an aging hype job with limited skills just waiting to be exposed.

And if Golovkin won, people will diminish the accomplishment of beating Floyd by saying he was old and the much smaller man.

While the prospect of Mayweather getting knocked out does excite me (and even then not much, because I'd favor him to beat Golovkin if they fought), the match just isn't that intriguing of one overall. I still figure it'll happen though if GGG beats Canelo, probably in September. Floyd's love of money and the spotlight is too great to ever turn down a big name opponent and big name fight if it's one he's confident he can win.

Floyd fans are a comical bunch. They simultaneously trash a fighter while at the same time claiming that fighter was a great win for Floyd. Floyd fans have said GGG is overrated...so how would beating him make that a great win and make Floyd the GOAT?

Floyd does this himself and I don't think he realizes he is trashing his own legacy by trashing his opponents. Called Gatti C-rate...ok so if he's C-rate, how does that count as a great win? Called Mosley a desperate and washed up steroid user...if he's washed up how is that a great win?
