I don’t score watching it live because it takes away from some of the enjoyment for me. But watching it live, I felt it was a drawish type fight, but I favored GGG slightly. Watching it live, I felt Canelo outboxed GGG in several periods of the fight. And I thought Canelo clearly landed the cleaner shots. But I favored GGG because I thought he won the attrition battle. I remember several times in the middle rounds I felt Canelo was looking for a reason to quit and GGG never gave him one.

That said, going back watching the replay a couple times. Obviously I lost that feeling of drama and was just able to score a boxing watch. And that’s when I consistently started getting a 7-5 score for Canelo. Yes, he fought going backwards. Yes, GGG was on his ass. But Canelo was landing the shots. Like I’ve said several times, a lot of GGG’s offense amounted to pity-pat shots. The times where GGG actually committed to landing big shots on Canelo were few and far between. Which is fine if you’re fighting a great defensive fight. But was blasted repeatedly to the head and body, especially the body. Just because he didn’t react doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Thats the problem though, Canelo only has to land one clean combination and the judges give him the round.

If you're going to pot shot your way to victory, you should at least be controlling the distance and the pace of the fight, à la Mayweather. But Canelo wasn't in control at all.
To say Canelo’s clean connects were few and far between means you had to totally ignore his body work. GGG took a beating to the body.

No he got hit but since did Canelo. I watched it a couple of times. I scored it the same both times.

Golovkin was tentative early on. He was feeling Canelo out. He started pursuing him as the fight went and his confidence elevated and Canelo was backing up. Still think outcome being a draw was a foregone conclusion to boost up the rematch. The next fight will begin where the last one left off. They both know what each other is going to bring so it should be an all out war. Both great fighters with great chins. Looking forward.

You’re entitled to your opinion. But in order to score the fight 8-4 GGG, you had to almost totally ignore and/or disregard anything Canelo did in the fight. And you had to give GGG maximum credit for a lot of ineffective aggression.

              Rounds 1-3 Canelo
              4-9 GGG

              10 and 12 Canelo
              11 GGG

I believe?? 9, 11 could of went either way but gave to GGG.

              7 GGG
              5 Canelo

Nope! Decision again. Taking the over.

I predicted a MD or SD last time and joked wouldnt be suprised if was a draw. I knew it would be a very hard fight to score and NO WAY all 3 judges would see the fight the same way. I didnt pick a winner i just bet the over.

I was way off on the fight though??? I had Canelo with the jabs and GGG with the power shots.

Going back and watching GGG miss BADLY is another reason why a lot of ppl gave Canelo the win after rewatching it.

I could watch it another 10x and still go 7-5 either way...A draw was fair to both fighters IMO. Neither one seemed to really WANT the win.

I don't bet but I'm picking Golovkin by KO in the seventh round. I predicted that for the first fight so I am predicting the same out of stubbornness. ( That's why I don't bet). I doubt that Golovkin can win a decision in Vegas against Canelo. The first fight proved that to me.

And this is why they fight.
